According to information from the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF), the Vietnamese team will have 4 players in the ASEAN All-Stars squad for the friendly match with Manchester United.

As planned, this match will take place on May 28, 2025 at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).

Four Vietnamese players on the list include defender Do Duy Manh ( Hanoi FC), midfielder Nguyen Hoang Duc (Phu Dong Ninh Binh), midfielder Nguyen Hai Long (Hanoi FC) and defender Nguyen Van Vi (Nam Dinh Blue Steel).

According to the initial announcement, AFF selected 3 players of the Vietnamese team, Duy Manh, Hoang Duc and Quang Hai, for the ASEAN All-Stars squad.

However, midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai of the Hanoi Police club has asked to withdraw to focus on important goals with his home team.

To replace Quang Hai, Mr. Kim Sang Sik - Coach of the Vietnam National Team and also the "captain" of ASEAN All-Stars proposed to summon midfielder Nguyen Hai Long.

In addition, defender Nguyen Van Vi was also called up thanks to his excellent performances for the national team, especially in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
