4 foreign referees on duty at the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament

Four international referees will officiate at the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Open.

“The 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament will be officiated by four international referees, including two from Malaysia, one from Hong Kong and one from Thailand, working in conjunction with domestic referees. We will also mobilize a team of highly qualified supervisors, coordinators and referees to ensure the quality and fairness of the matches,” said Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha, Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Football Federation, at a press conference announcing the tournament on the morning of July 2.

The 2025 ASEAN Police Football Championship will take place in Vietnam from July 7 to July 15, with the participation of 8 teams from countries in the region and partners. In addition to the two host teams CAND I and CAND II, there are also representatives from Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Timor Leste and Australia.

VFF Deputy Secretary General Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha said there will be 4 foreign referees participating in the tournament.

According to the draw results on June 19, Group A includes CAND I, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia; Group B includes CAND II, Australia, Singapore and Timor Leste. The teams will compete in a round robin to determine the four teams that will advance to the semi-finals. The opening ceremony and the opening matches will take place simultaneously on July 7 at two locations: Hang Day Stadium ( Hanoi ) and PVF Center (Hung Yen).

The tournament has important political and diplomatic significance, aiming to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces. This is an opportunity to promote the sports training movement, improve physical strength and solidarity for officers and soldiers of the armed forces, while contributing to building the image of the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces as a regular, elite and modern force in the eyes of international friends.

In addition to its professional significance, the event is also a bridge to strengthen cooperation, friendship and mutual understanding between the police forces of ASEAN countries and partners. Thereby, contributing to promoting peace and stability in the region, while promoting the image of Vietnam as friendly, hospitable and rich in cultural identity.
