Coming to the coastal city of Nha Trang in the fall, you do not have to jostle with the crowds while having the opportunity to experience different things.
Nha Trang in the fall is no longer the peak tourist season, but still brings new things, especially if you are someone who likes to immerse yourself in nature, likes the "healing" travel experiences that are the current trend. In addition, there are other options for those who do not like to exercise. The itinerary was referenced from a tour guide in Khanh Hoa and a group of friends of Mr. Dong Phong, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, during a trip in mid-September.
Day 1
Morning and noon
Mornings in Nha Trang start with a light swim. The water is quite warm this season, so swimming is very pleasant. After swimming, choose to have breakfast with banh can - a popular dish here.
"We ordered a mixed plate with all kinds of toppings, served with shredded sour mango and sweet and sour fish sauce with a meatball. A mixed plate costs 80,000-90,000 VND with 8 pieces of shrimp, squid, beef, egg, mussels," Phong said. Some suggested addresses: banh can 51 To Hien Thanh, banh can Ut Nam on Pham Hong Thai street, banh can Co Tu on Thap Ba street.

In addition to banh can, you can also choose other dishes for breakfast such as fish noodle soup, jellyfish noodle soup, rice noodles, wet rice noodles, and rice vermicelli. Gia Lai beef noodle soup or dry pho are also loved by many people. Suggested addresses: Hung Huynh dry pho, Ba Thua noodle soup, Hanh Nhien fish noodle soup, Doc Let jellyfish noodle soup.
After breakfast, relax and continue your journey to Nha Trang in autumn with a trip to the forest. The forest is located in Ninh Hoa town, about 40 km from the city center. You can go by car or motorbike because the distance is not too far, easy to move. Park your vehicle at the edge of the forest, remember to bring a hat and drinking water to start the journey.
The road to the forest is quite easy to go, there are trails and no steep climbs so almost everyone can participate. The purpose of the trip is not to conquer but simply to get closer to nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Walk slowly and feel the green of the leaves, breathe the fresh air that the forest brings. You can observe the diverse life in the forest, from ants crawling on the ground, nesting in the trees, grasshoppers jumping under the grass, dragonflies flying and landing, birds flying in the sky. The sounds of the forest are birds chirping, leaves rustling, and the sound of streams flowing.

Walk about 30 minutes in the forest to reach a small stream, convenient for stopping to rest. You can wade or bathe in the stream. Next to the stream is a fairly flat rocky beach, where you can stop and have lunch. There are many trees here, the air is cool. After eating, remember to collect the trash, do not leave anything harmful to the environment. Rest and return to the city in the afternoon.
Evening
Back in the city, one of the things not to be missed is a relaxing mud bath. "Mud baths in Nha Trang are very famous and the most popular address is right near the Po Nagar Tower area in the center," said Mr. Phong.
There are many types of services for you to choose from including mud baths, hot mineral pools, jacuzzis, and herbal baths. After a day of trekking, relaxing in a mud bath is a must-try experience. Service prices range from 120,000 to 1,000,000 VND per person depending on the service package. Large groups receive more preferential prices.
In the evening in the coastal city, you must enjoy seafood. Whether it is a high-class restaurant or a popular eatery, the seafood is very fresh, so you can choose a suitable place. Popular dishes are grouper, sea bream, lobster, scallops, crab, crab, and snails.

The Thap Ba area, Cu Lao Trung street, Tran Phu street concentrates many good quality eateries and restaurants such as Long Vu snail - seafood restaurant (Thap Ba), Bo Ke seafood (Cu Lao Trung), Thanh Suong seafood (Tran Phu), Luong Son Cang restaurant (Hung Vuong), Hon Ro restaurant (Nguyen Van Linh). "At this time, the price of fish in Nha Trang is quite reasonable because it is not the peak tourist season. The food is fresh and delicious, the service is attentive. Each person eats about 200,000 VND to 400,000 VND, which is enough to be full," said Mr. Phong.
Evening stroll around the city, take photos at That Theater. If you come at the time of the art program, buy tickets to enjoy and visit inside this theater with a unique design of a fishing rod.
Stay overnight at a hotel on Tran Phu Street, close to the beach. This season, the hotel has many rooms. High-end hotels cost around 1 million VND per night, with a sea view.
Day 2
Morning and noon
Waking up at 5am to catch the sunrise over the sea is an exciting start to the second day in Nha Trang. After a suggested breakfast of fish noodle soup at one of the famous restaurants, Nguyen Loan on Ngo Gia Tu Street, prepare for a special experience, a journey to a rocky beach by the sea, at the foot of Cu Hin Pass, 15km from the center. This rocky beach is known only to locals and is very deserted.

Before leaving, stop by the market to buy supplies for a barbecue with oysters, shrimp, squid, meat and vegetables. Bring simple supplies, just a grill, a lighter, some small charcoal and some pine wood, no dishes, no spoons or forks.
The first thing to do when you arrive is to go find dry firewood. You need small branches to start the fire and larger logs to maintain the stove throughout the meal. Then, you use stones to prop up the stove and place the grill firmly. Arrange the firewood, light the fire, blow and fan for a while and the stove is ready for grilling. Because the ingredients are fresh, shrimp, squid and beef only need to be grilled, add corn and a few sweet potatoes for a delicious and filling meal. "My friend uses dried Indian almond leaves and banana peels to hold the food. The spices are put in oyster shells. A purely natural, rustic and beautiful barbecue party," said Mr. Phong.
While waiting for the food to cook, you can go swimming. The sea is very clear, almost waveless. There are lots of wild seaweed and small fish at the bottom. The best feeling is to swim, eat a little, then go diving again.

If you are not a fan of wild experiences, stay in the city to visit famous places such as Ponagar Tower, Oceanographic Institute, Stone Church. These places are close to each other in the city so it only takes about 1-2 hours to go around.
For the remaining time, there are many options such as: Go to VinWonder amusement park on Hon Tre island to swim. The service price per person is from 800,000 VND to 1 million VND for half a day, including a lunch; Buy a tour to experience 3-5 islands in Nha Trang Bay (Hon Mun island, Hon Tam island, Robinson island, Hoa Lan island, Monkey island). The ticket for taking a canoe from Nha Trang tourist pier to these islands is 200,000 VND per person. If you buy a full day tour, the price is from 750,000 VND per person; climbing Co Tien mountain or Hoang Nguu Son to see the whole view of Nha Trang city is also an option.
Afternoon and evening
Now is the time for coffee. A suggestion is a shop with a spacious outdoor space, lots of trees and quiet in the alley on Tue Tinh street called Yen Garden Bistro. In addition to the green space like a garden, the shop also has a koi pond and an area displaying wooden water puppet statues, ceramics, and traditional fishing baskets.
This time the shop is decorated with the Mid-Autumn theme. Not just a few lanterns or lion heads, each corner here has its own theme. The owner is a designer so he takes care of the shop meticulously. The staff said that each season, each festival, the shop will change the decoration accordingly. You can sit and sip a drink and chat with friends or you can also choose a private corner to work or read a book. The shop's drinks are diverse, from coffee, tea to juice, smoothies, milk tea with prices ranging from 30,000 to 70,000 VND.

To end a light day, enjoy banh beo, nam, loc at the "small but mighty" Be Tu banh beo restaurant on Huynh Thuc Khang street. A tray of banh beo includes 10 cups for 24,000 VND. You can also eat banh hoi, cha ram, banh gio, all of which are easy to eat. The restaurant also serves soy milk, pennywort and yogurt. If you don't eat here, choose one of the above alternative places to eat.
Two days with new experiences in the "not new" city can be a suggestion for those who have been to Nha Trang many times. In two days, you can go to the forest, go to the sea, eat delicious food to relax your body and soul, and regenerate energy.
