Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Dang Hoang An informs about the electricity supply situation
Mr. Dang Hoang An said that after many times of urging, up to now, 52/82 renewable energy projects have submitted their documents to EVN to negotiate electricity prices and there are still 33 projects that have not submitted their documents.
Among the submitted projects, 39 projects proposed to sign early contracts at provisional prices. Notably, of these, 5 projects with a total capacity of 391 MW have ensured all legal documents in accordance with the law, meeting the conditions for commercial power generation.
"These 5 projects are currently just waiting for testing and power testing to be completed and can generate electricity to the grid in the coming days," said Mr. Dang Hoang An.
Also according to Mr. Dang Hoang An, according to the 2023 plan, the average electricity consumption is 808 million kWh/day, but from the beginning of the year to the end of May 25, the average electricity consumption has reached 818 million kWh/day, an increase of 8%. Notably, last week, EVN recorded a record electricity consumption, up to 923.9 million kWh, on May 19.
Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that renewable energy sources (wind power, solar power) have made a significant contribution to the current total electricity supply, in the context of hydropower facing many difficulties.
"Current renewable energy plants are only operating at 56% capacity, but currently mobilize about 100 million kWh per day. In particular, on May 25, the mobilized wind and solar power output reached 106 million kWh," said Mr. Dang Hoang An.
According to information from EVN, 5 transitional energy projects that can be put into commercial operation and generate electricity immediately are: Nhon Hoi Plant (phase 2), Tan Phu Dong 1, Phu My 1, Phu My 3, Trung Nam - Thuan Nam 450 MW.
Specifically, these projects have met the conditions to comply with investment and construction laws, including: inspection of acceptance work; electricity operation license, investment policy extension...
Also according to EVN, as of May 26, the group has completed the extension of connection agreements for all projects, including some projects that do not have connection lines, including: Hoa Thang 1.2, Thien Tan 1.4, Phong Dien 1 - Binh Thuan (phase 2); 51 projects have completed construction of part or all of the tested power plants; 16 projects with a total capacity of 1,019 MW have been connected to the grid for the first time and approved for testing.
Also at the meeting, Deputy Minister Dang Hoang An directed EVN to complete testing and experimentation of registered power plants before May 31.
