The Red Devils are facing a fitness issue with goalkeeper Andre Onana. The Cameroon international has missed the entire pre-season with a hamstring injury and is racing against time to be fit for the opening game. If Onana is unable to play, Altay Bayindir, who replaced him in the summer, is likely to keep goal.

However, Onana has given a positive signal about his recovery: "I feel well, I feel great. The last few weeks have been difficult, but hopefully I will be back for the start of the season."
Man Utd's defence is also facing serious problems as Lisandro Martinez continues to struggle with a persistent injury. Although he joined the team on the US tour, the specific time of the Argentine centre-back's return is still unknown.
Noussair Mazraoui has also been absent from training after being taken off early in the friendly against Leeds. The extent of his injury is not yet known, but his lengthy absence is a concern for the coaching staff. Joshua Zirkzee, a striker who has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, is also a doubt despite expressing his desire to return for the opening game.
Meanwhile, Arsenal, who drew this game last season, are desperate to get off to a flying start and Mikel Arteta's squad is expected to feature a number of new signings.

Viktor Gyokeres is expected to lead the Gunners' attack, especially with Gabriel Jesus still sidelined with a serious knee injury. The Brazilian's injury has left Arsenal struggling to find a striker and prompted them to pursue Gyokeres.
Leandro Trossard, one of the players who has shone when needed, is also struggling with fitness. He was left out of the Arsenal squad that beat Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in their final pre-season friendly. However, Arteta remains confident of Trossard's availability: "He has a little groin problem, but he'll be fine."
