99.5% of Hanoi candidates came to complete the registration procedures for the 10th grade entrance exam.

On the morning of May 29th, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training organized a training session on regulations and procedures for the entrance exam to 10th grade in high schools for the 2026-2027 academic year at 224 examination centers across the city.

According to a report from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, 123,467 out of 124,082 candidates registered for the exam, achieving a participation rate of 99.5%. 615 candidates were absent, possibly due to deciding to pursue vocational training, attend private schools, or choose a different path.

This year's exam was held at 224 testing locations with 5,300 non-specialized examination rooms and 385 reserve examination rooms.

Regarding the personnel on duty, 17,803 out of 17,816 officials, teachers, and staff members were present, achieving a rate of 99.93%. Those absent were replaced by reserve teachers in accordance with the examination regulations. Five candidates required assistance with the exam due to health issues and needed medical support.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, preparations at the examination sites were assessed as fully compliant with regulations. 100% of the examination sites received all necessary stationery from the Department of Education and Training; and coordinated with the police and security forces to develop plans to ensure safety inside and outside the examination areas.

Each examination site is equipped with a backup generator to proactively respond to any power outages that may occur during the exam period.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also requested strengthened measures to ensure security and safety at examination sites, such as checking rooms and cabinets for storing exam papers and answer sheets; security camera systems; plans for safeguarding candidates' personal belongings; ensuring food safety and hygiene; coordinating traffic flow; and proactively developing plans for preventing and responding to storms and heavy rain.

According to the plan, on the morning of May 30th, candidates will take the Literature exam in essay format, with a time limit of 120 minutes. In the afternoon of the same day, candidates will take the Foreign Language exam in multiple-choice format, with a time limit of 60 minutes.
