After graduating from the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Public Health with a degree in testing, Duong Huu Nghia, born in 1993, did not apply for a job in a government agency as his parents wished, but decided to open a pet store at home to start a business.
His parents did not support him, so at the end of 2014, Nghia gathered all his savings of nearly 4 million VND to buy a few hamsters to sell, and invested the rest in accessories such as hamster houses, food troughs, and store decorations...
Mr. Nghia awarded certificates of completion of the pet care training course to students.
“There were countless difficulties in the early days: lack of capital, no customers, and the store was located in a rural commune so few people knew about it, but I was still determined to try,” Nghia confided.
The first customer came to buy 2 pet mice and some copper coins for 1.2 million VND because he knew the information on Nghia's personal Facebook. So Nghia paid attention to regularly updating information about the Zin Zin pet store at 540 Phuoc Ninh hamlet, Mong Tho B commune, Chau Thanh district ( Kien Giang ) on social networks for marketing.
Mr. Duong Huu Nghia (top ranking), owner of Zin Zin pet store chain, participated in the international pet hair styling competition organized by ISCC Vietnam Association in August 2023.
After more than 2 years, Nghia's shop has been operating stably, with more and more customers. In addition to pet mice, Zin Zin pet shop also sells some types of pet dogs such as Poodles, Japanese dogs, pugs... priced from several million to tens of millions of VND/dog, along with cat breeds such as Persian, Russian cats, British shorthair cats, some types of squirrels, and hedgehogs.
In addition to importing pets from reputable establishments, Nghia also sells pet accessories such as shirts, pants, handbags, collars, water bottles, and pet beds. Nghia said: “Starting my business in 2014, after 2 years I had saved up a fair amount of capital, so I decided to open a store in the center of Rach Gia City - 317B Nguyen Trung Truc Street, Vinh Lac Ward” and 2 other stores in Rach Soi Ward and Tan Hiep District (Kien Giang).

Every day, Mr. Nghia's Zin Zin pet spa takes care of about 20 pets. The busiest time is near Tet, all 3 stores have to work until 10 pm to finish.
Not only local customers, customers in districts, coastal cities and other provinces also come to find out about him on Facebook. To ensure good care for the large number of dogs and cats sent to customers as well as perform other care services, Nghia has a staff of 10 skilled workers who have been professionally trained by him.

“We have a pet pick-up and drop-off service. We deliver pet accessories and food to your home for free within Rach Gia City. This profession is one of the 13 most popular professions in Vietnam, but to do business, you must first have a little understanding and love for pets to be able to advise and provide the best care for your pets,” said Mr. Nghia.
