The Voice Vietnam 2019 runner-up Vo Duc Tri was depressed and quit singing to make a living.

(Dan Tri) - Runner-up of "The Voice of Vietnam" 2019 Vo Duc Tri shared his motivation to return to professional singing after a difficult and unstable period in his career.

Vo Duc Tri was born in 1996 in An Giang , passionate about singing since childhood. He became known to the audience when he won the runner-up of The Voice Vietnam in 2019 as a member of the band Dominix.

After the competition, Vo Duc Tri and the Dominix members had some differences in direction. He left the group, worked solo but did not leave much of an impression.

Unstable in his career, under pressure to make a living, Vo Duc Tri decided to quit singing and switch to streamer management (managing people who work on live broadcasting platforms).

"At that time, I had financial difficulties. I sang and saved money to make products but was not successful and did not bring in any profit, so I was extremely tired and fell into depression.

When the Covid-19 pandemic happened, artistic activities were temporarily suspended, I thought, I need a job to stay in Ho Chi Minh City. That's why I stopped singing and became a streamer manager," Vo Duc Tri shared with Dan Tri reporter.

During the 2 years he put his musical dream on hold, Vo Duc Tri always longed to stand on stage. The singer born in 1996 said he still practiced his voice and followed news in the profession, but had difficulty choosing the right path for himself.

"One day, a company invited me to become an artist. When I had a team to accompany me, I was no longer alone and decided to sing again. Compared to when I first started my career, now I am more confident, more mentally stable in the face of difficulties and have determined long-term goals to pursue my passion," the singer revealed.

Vo Duc Tri said that this year, he will focus on products that bear his personal mark. When asked about participating in music game shows to spread his name closer to the audience, the singer left this possibility open for his 2025 goals.

Over the past time, Vo Duc Tri has maintained a close relationship with the coaches at The Voice 2019 such as Thanh Ha and Dam Vinh Hung, regularly receiving valuable feedback to perfect his music products.

Speaking more about choosing to sing ballads in the context of having to compete with many vibrant songs that are suitable for young audiences' tastes, Vo Duc Tri said that ballads are suitable for his voice.
