(Hanoi) – On July 18, Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( ACB ) was honored to receive the prestigious award for Best Bank for Apple Pay Payment Technology Application (Visa card) - “Best Retail Payments Initiative in Vietnam” from the leading prestigious financial magazine The Asian Banker for the Bank's outstanding achievements in applying Apple Pay payment technology as well as the strategy of understanding customers and perfecting the experience in the digital space.

The “The Retail Finance and Financial Technology Innovation Awards” organized by The Asian Banker aims to honor outstanding businesses and organizations in the financial sector with innovative technology applications.
At the award ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tam Khoa - Deputy Director of Personal Banking, Director of ACB Payment Solution Development Center shared: “ACB being honored as the best bank applying Apple Pay payment technology (Visa card) has demonstrated our strong commitment to applying technology and providing compact and safe digital payment solutions for customers. The effort comes from detailed market research, analyzing consumer behavior, then developing big ideas and creative "concepts" suitable for Vietnamese customers. It is not simply integrating a new payment feature, but Apple Pay is the perfect piece to complete ACB's digital ecosystem."
Mr. Khoa said that customers can now link ACB cards with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay and Samsung Pay to make one-touch payments right on their phones. Notably, although Apple Pay was just launched by ACB on August 8, 2023, up to 87% of ACB customers recognize Apple Pay as a new, "trendy" and "digital" technology payment method. The bank also noted that the appearance of Apple Pay has boosted customer access, helping ACB gain market share, with Apple Pay transaction sales in the first 6 months of 2024 alone growing impressively by 68%. Compared to competitors launching Apple Pay at the same time, ACB has clearly demonstrated distinct advantages in developing digital payment technologies through a strategy of reducing touch points and increasing understanding.
