The tool will allow users to perform tasks like changing the lighting of a scene from midday to dusk, or creating background music just by typing text prompts into the system. The tools are part of an AI system called Adobe Firefly that the company introduced last month.
Adobe is in the generative AI race, fueled by applications from OpenAI and Microsoft-backed Stability AI. However, Getty Images recently sued Stability AI, accusing the startup of misusing Getty’s copyrighted images to train its AI system. This raises legal questions about whether AI outputs can be used commercially.
Adobe, one of the largest software providers for image and video creators, has asserted that the output from its Firefly system is legally safe for commercial use.
Regarding the AI-integrated video editing tool, users can ask the system to read the script, then automatically divide the scenes, and even suggest some rough-cut scenes of the story.
For advertising, the system includes features for shooting scenes, creating background music, and different scenery depending on the country the ad is displayed in.
“With just one click, we can create 1,000 ‘localized’ versions of the same video,” said Ivo Manolov, Adobe’s vice president of digital audio and video services.
The company is currently testing the system and plans to release the AI video tool later this year.
