In recent days, many residents of Da Nang city have been quite surprised to report that a large amount of soil and rocks have been dumped into the Han River along Chuong Duong Street (in the Ngu Hanh Son district). |
According to reporters' observations, on the morning of April 5th, approximately 200-300 meters upstream from the Tran Thi Ly bridge on the Han River were filled with soil and rocks. Many sections protruded into the river by nearly ten meters. |
The dumping of soil was carried out outside the embankment area and without any protective covering, causing soil and rocks to slide into the Han River. |
After backfilling, some areas of rock were covered with sand and gravel on the surface. |
| The encroachment on the Han River for large-scale projects has been a "hot" issue for the public due to the potential risks and disruption of planning and the landscape along both banks of the river. |
| Since the end of 2023, the Da Nang City People's Committee has agreed on and approved the pilot program to organize tourism services across the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and the park on the east bank - at the foot of the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge. The pilot period will run from the first quarter of 2024 to the end of 2028. |
However, the pilot plan for organizing tourism services across the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and the park on the east bank - at the foot of the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge - does not include any items permitted to dump soil or encroach on the Han River. |
Speaking to a reporter from Tien Phong newspaper, a leader of the Da Nang Department of Construction said: "We have received the information and are coordinating with Ngu Hanh Son district to verify it. Once we have the results, we will provide specific information about this matter." |
