After a decade with Bayern Munich, Kingsley Coman has officially left the team to join superstar Ronaldo at Al Nassr Club (Saudi Arabia).
Al Nassr paid around €25m for Coman's signature. However, additional bonuses could bring the total deal value up to €30m.
On Bayern's side, they have significantly reduced the salary burden when Coman is receiving up to 19 million euros per year.
In the Saudi Pro League, the French striker will receive an incredible salary, estimated at 20-25 million euros per year after tax. A figure that surpasses what he received at Bayern.
An interesting detail is that Al Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have played a key role in facilitating this deal.
According to BILD, the Portuguese legend lobbied the board to sign the French striker. Ronaldo praised Coman's talent and expressed his desire to play with him. This greatly influenced Coman's decision to leave Bayern.
At Bayern, the arrivals of Luis Díaz this summer and Michael Olise last summer have pushed Coman into the regular starting XI, which may be part of the reason why the winger is ready for a new chapter in his career.
On social media, Coman expressed his deep gratitude and love for Bayern Munich, saying he was "grateful to have been part of the history of this club".
During his career at Bayern Munich, Coman played 339 matches, scored 72 goals and had 71 assists. The French winger has been a key part of the Bavarians' most successful eras, scoring the winning goal in the 2020 Champions League final.
