The work of “Repaying gratitude” and supporting people with meritorious services in difficult circumstances, especially in terms of housing, has been paid attention to and actively responded to by the Party Committee, government, organizations, people and businesses of Tri Ton district, bringing about practical results. Thereby, contributing to encouraging people with meritorious services and their relatives to feel secure in production and improve their lives.

During the days when the whole country joyfully celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), Tri Ton district handed over houses in the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses to policy families and meritorious people. This is a meaningful political and humane activity, expressing the gratitude of the Party, the State and all the people to those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. At the same time, it demonstrates the spirit of "Leaving no one behind", contributing to poverty reduction, building new and sustainable rural areas...

As one of the policy households supported to build a new house and receive a spacious house on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, Mr. Tran Van Phu (Luong Phi commune) was extremely excited. Mr. Phu's father was martyr Tran Van Pho, who joined the revolution in 1945 and died in the Mau Than campaign in 1968. Mr. Phu has 2 children who are married and have their own families. He currently lives with his wife, and his economy depends on farming. With the State's support of 60 million VND, the family contributed an additional 65 million VND to build a new spacious house. “Previously, my family received a house supported by the state, but due to long-term use, it has deteriorated. This is the second time my family has been considered for a house, I am very happy. With the attention of the Party and the State, I promise to continue to promote the revolutionary tradition of my family, and set an example in implementing emulation movements in the locality,” Mr. Tran Van Phu shared.

Handing over house to meritorious family in Tri Ton district

As a mountainous and border district, Tri Ton district is recognized as a Hero of the People's Armed Forces. The whole district has over 4,000 people with meritorious services, including 89 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 10 People's Armed Forces Heroes, and 984 martyrs. According to the survey data at the end of 2024, the locality has 2,164 poor households (6.47%), 2,809 near-poor households (8.4%). The number of households in need of housing support is 1,336, including 1,293 newly built households and 43 repaired households. Particularly for people with meritorious services to the revolution, the need for housing support is 39 households, including 22 newly built houses and 17 repaired houses.

Chairman of Tri Ton District People's Committee Nguyen Van Be Tam said that, following the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, Tri Ton District People's Committee has provisionally advanced the district budget allocated to communes and towns. At the same time, it has directed localities to speed up the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services. "From the allocated budget, communes and towns have actively implemented early construction, ensuring the right progress and completed before April 30. From there, helping families with meritorious services have new, spacious houses to welcome the great celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification" - Chairman of Tri Ton District People's Committee Nguyen Van Be Tam informed.

Up to now, Tri Ton district has completed 39/39 houses for meritorious people and policy families. In addition, 4 communes have completed the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for meritorious people, including: Luong Phi (47 houses), Lac Quoi (8 houses), Luong An Tra (24 houses), Ta Danh (22 houses). Secretary of the Party Committee of Luong An Tra commune Huynh Thi Thuy said that when the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses was implemented, it received high response and consensus from the people, especially businesses in the area. This is an opportunity to improve housing, thereby improving the material and spiritual life of the people, especially policy families and meritorious people.
