A study recently published in the medical journal Nutrients proves that probiotics are a safe "miracle drug" for people suffering from high blood cholesterol.
According to a research team from Srinakharinwirot University, Vajira Hospital of Navamindradhiraj University, Burapha University (Thailand), the study aims to find a solution to reverse hypercholesterolemia, a significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease and metabolic disorders.

Hypercholesterolemia, or dyslipidemia, can also contribute to fatty liver, some heart and gallbladder diseases..., which are increasingly common and are expected to be related to 40% of deaths by 2030.
It is characterized by high levels of total cholesterol, bad LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, but low good cholesterol (HDL), mainly due to diet and exercise.
However, new research shows that in addition to eating healthy and exercising regularly, eating foods with probiotics can also help you lower your blood cholesterol significantly.
Detailed tests showed that different probiotic strains had slightly different effects on individual organs, but overall they were beneficial.
There are three main effects: Impact on cholesterol metabolism in tendons, regulate intestinal microflora to help them process foods with the most cholesterol, and assimilate cholesterol at the cellular level to eliminate it.
Probiotic foods are diverse, including many popular Asian dishes: Chao and other fermented soy foods, yogurt, kimchi, miso, kefir, pickled vegetables such as cucumbers, pickled olives...
The research team recommends that the best way is still to eat a variety of foods containing probiotics, because they will provide many different strains of beneficial bacteria, affecting the body in many ways.
