However, most people are unaware that rice contains a lot of sugar. Therefore, eating a lot of rice can cause high blood sugar levels. This is also a major cause of dangerous complications, affecting health and quality of life.

According to information from the Institute of Food Safety, although white rice is one of the foods with high nutritional value, eating too much of it can affect health.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Ninh from the Vietnam Institute of Applied Medicine, the average Vietnamese person eats about four bowls of rice per day. This daily rice intake is equivalent to a week's carbohydrate intake for Europeans. This is also why diabetes rates are much higher in Asian countries and Vietnam compared to European countries.

According to research from Harvard School of Public Health (USA), eating white rice increases the risk of diabetes, even more so than sugary drinks. The study results show that consuming one bowl of white rice per day increases the risk of diabetes by 11%.

Eating too much rice increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, you shouldn't eat more than 3 bowls a day. Try to reduce the amount of white rice in each meal and instead diversify your accompanying dishes.
