On October 22, the Management Board of Sam Mountain National Tourist Area, An Giang province held a press conference to inform about the plan to collect entrance fees at Sam Mountain National Tourist Area, Vinh Te ward, An Giang province.

This is information that tourists and locals are interested in, because previously many people who came to Sam Mountain did not have the need to visit or sightsee, but were still stopped by toll station staff and asked to buy entrance tickets to enter the mountain, causing inconvenience.

Mr. Truong Huu Tien, Director of the Management Board of Sam Mountain National Tourist Area, informed that Sam Mountain National Tourist Area has a complex of cultural and historical relics and scenic spots such as: Sam Mountain, Ba Chua Xu Temple of Sam Mountain, Tay An Pagoda, Hang Pagoda, and Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb.

The collection of entrance fees in the Sam Mountain National Tourist Area is included in the list of entrance fees for scenic spots and historical relics as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 4 of the Law on Fees and Charges 2015 and Clauses 4, 5 and 6, Article 2 of Circular No. 85/2019/TT-BTC dated November 29, 2019 of the Minister of Finance guiding on fees and charges under the decision-making authority of the People's Councils of provinces and centrally run cities.

Accordingly, the entrance fee plan will be limited to around three national relic sites: Sam Mountain Lady Temple, Tay An Pagoda and Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb.

At the same time, 3 ticket control points are arranged, including ticket control point No. 1: at the beginning of the walking street in front of Tay An Pagoda; ticket control point No. 2: at the end of the walking street in front of Vinh Te Communal House; ticket control point No. 3: at the entrance to the back gate of the Lady Temple on Chau Thi Te Street (from the entrance 30 meters towards the Lady Temple).

Ticket booths are expected to be located at the tourist transit point of the Management Board of the National Tourist Area of ​​Sam Mountain - Vinh Dong Commercial Center; the old sculpture area of ​​Tan Lo Kieu Luong Street; the end of the walking street in front of Vinh Te Communal House.

According to Mr. Truong Huu Tien, with this arrangement, it ensures full collection and collection from the right subjects; in accordance with current legal regulations and reality in Sam Mountain National Tourist Area.

Mr. Tien said that the current toll collection points will be removed, meaning that vehicles will be able to freely move in and out of the Sam Mountain National Tourist Area without being hindered as before.

Stop stopping vehicles to buy tickets at the current 3 locations; to ensure safety for the task force and facilitate smooth traffic flow.

Does not affect residents or tourists if they do not want to visit relics in the tourist area; tourists only need to buy tickets once as at present, without incurring any additional costs.

The cordoned-off tourist area will prohibit street vendors, incense sellers, motorbike taxi drivers, pedicab drivers, etc.; gradually restore security and order, build commercial civilization, and prevent soliciting and forcing prices on tourists.

When implementing this new toll collection plan, it will create a favorable basis for implementing the electronic ticket sales project under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee.
