At the Au Lau industrial cluster these days, the atmosphere is bustling with activity. The sounds of machinery are contributing to the construction of the third food processing plant of Cuong Thuy Import-Export and Food Processing Joint Stock Company.
This is a self-contained project with an expected capacity of up to 30 tons of finished products per day. More importantly, once operational, the factory will create jobs for approximately 600 local workers.

A site is being leveled for a project in Au Lau ward, Lao Cai province.
Mr. Vu Tuan Anh – Director of Transportation at Cuong Thuy Group – affirmed: "We are here with the desire to be pioneers in building a processing plant with green and clean technology. The factory's production lines and workshops all meet European standards."
The story of Cuong Thuy Group is not an isolated case. It is a testament to a consistent strategy of the local government. Au Lau Ward, with its advantages in waterways, roads, and railways, is prioritizing high-tech projects for sustainable development.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Au Lau Ward, Lao Cai Province, affirmed: "Investment projects in our area are also selected from investors with green, environmentally friendly projects. The goal is to develop industry while ensuring environmental protection."
And the results of this orientation are remarkable. To date, Lao Cai province has nearly 1,500 active projects with a total registered capital of over 945 trillion VND. But the numbers are not the whole story; the highlight lies in the quality "filter" that Lao Cai has set: prioritizing energy-saving projects, advanced environmental treatment technologies, and especially projects with high knowledge content.

Lao Cai prioritizes attracting green and safe projects.
Regarding this matter, Mr. Pham Trung Lan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Lao Cai province, added: "We are moving to the stage of selecting investors. The requirement is that investment projects in industrial zones and clusters must have reasonable investment levels, with advanced machinery and equipment and technology applications, while saving resources and protecting the environment."
It is clear that Lao Cai is not rolling out the red carpet indiscriminately, but is carefully "weaving" a sustainable green carpet. By focusing on quality and sustainability, Lao Cai is gradually asserting its position as a safe and attractive investment destination, aiming to become a green industrial growth hub for the region and the country.
