Promoting the advantage of raw materials, Tran Yen identified the agricultural and forestry processing industry as the main direction. In particular, Yen Bai Mulberry and Silk Joint Stock Company is a typical example of a production model associated with people's livelihoods. Established in 2020, the Company has invested in building a silk reeling factory with a capacity of 2,500 kg of cocoons/day, with revenue in 2024 reaching more than 4 million USD, and silk products are exported to markets in India, Japan and Europe. The Company currently purchases all cocoon output in the region, while expanding mulberry growing areas, providing vocational training and technical support to hundreds of households, forming a closed, environmentally friendly production chain.

Mr. Vu Xuan Truong - Company Director shared: "We determine that the business can only develop sustainably when mulberry growers and silkworm breeders have stable income and the environment is protected."

Similarly, the Vietnam Cinnamon Cooperative in Tran Yen commune is also a typical model in developing the processing industry associated with organic agriculture. With modern technology lines, the Cooperative produces 1,500 - 2,000 tons of cinnamon/year, with a revenue of over 30 billion VND, creating regular jobs for more than 100 workers. Up to now, the Cooperative has linked with more than 800 households, developed nearly 1,000 hectares of organic cinnamon that meets international standards, supplying products to high-end markets such as the US, Japan, Korea, France... Not only creating economic value, the organic cinnamon production model also helps change production thinking, protect forest land, reduce emissions, and move towards green and sustainable agricultural production.

In addition to the field of agricultural and forestry processing, Tran Yen is also the headquarters of Mechanical Engineering One Member Co., Ltd. 83 - a unit under the General Department of Defense Industry. Colonel Vuong Chi Toai - Director of the Company said: "In recent years, the unit has strongly transformed the production model and expanded international cooperation. In 2024, the production value reached more than 1,146 billion VND, an increase of 40% compared to 2023; the average income of workers is nearly 20 million VND/month". The company not only ensures economic tasks but also actively participates in social security, vocational training and job creation for young workers in the locality.

Tran Yen is focusing on completing the infrastructure of Bao Dap Industrial Cluster, encouraging businesses to expand their wood, cinnamon, mulberry, garment processing factories, etc., while attracting investment in high value-added and environmentally friendly industries. “Tran Yen aims to develop industry associated with green, modern production spaces, using local labor and applying digital technology. This is a sustainable direction, both shifting the economic structure and ensuring social security,” added Mr. Do Minh Huan.

The commune is promoting the improvement of the investment environment, removing obstacles for businesses, and supporting the expansion of production facilities such as Yen Bai Silk Incubator Factory, cinnamon processing factory, mechanics, garment... At the same time, the government continues to support the private economy to develop in both scale and competitiveness; encourage business households to transform into enterprises, develop new cooperative models; prioritize the fields of processing, high technology, biotechnology and organic industry. Small and medium-sized enterprises are facilitated to access the market, improve productivity, product quality and participate more deeply in the green value chain.
