Accordingly, the delegation inspected the collective kitchens of 24 primary schools, ethnic boarding schools, ethnic semi-boarding primary schools and secondary schools in Yen Bai ward, communes: Tu Le, Nam Co, Pung Luong, Mu Cang Chai, Khao Mang, Lao Chai, Tram Tau, Phinh Ho, Hanh Phuc.

The inspection showed that: 100% of schools assigned representatives of the school board to be in charge of food safety; 100% of schools have signed contracts to purchase food with organizations/individuals/households that produce and trade food with clear addresses; schools have arranged food preparation and processing areas, food distribution areas, and separate cafeterias for students; 100% of schools conduct 3-step food inspection, record food information on forms; have sample storage cabinets, sample storage tools, some schools also have thermometers to store samples, preserve samples and destroy food samples according to regulations, food samples are stored separately and not mixed with other foods; school kitchens are arranged to ensure no cross-contamination between unprocessed and processed foods...
In particular, there are 2 schools that have their own elevator system to transport cooked food to the dining room for students.

However, 7 schools have not met the requirements for cleanliness of dishes; 3 schools do not have separate canteens for students; some schools have unsanitary food processing areas and canteens; the drainage system in the food processing areas is not tight; some schools have unsecured samples in terms of quantity and weight, and the sample storage cabinets do not have thermometers to monitor the temperature.
In particular, food purchase contracts at some schools do not specifically state each type of food. The results of water sample tests at some schools through the test results of testing units with high Coliform indicators.

The inspection team requested schools to maintain a self-inspection and food safety monitoring regime; implement a three-step food inspection regime and store food samples in accordance with the Ministry of Health 's instructions; and strengthen propaganda to raise awareness and responsibility of managers, teachers, staff and students about ensuring food safety and preventing food poisoning.
The inspection team also guided groups of subjects in schools to implement measures to ensure food safety, prevent food poisoning, etc.; disseminated knowledge and legal regulations on food safety, thereby raising awareness and sense of responsibility of schools in ensuring food safety.
