On November 20, the leader of the People's Committee of Ea Knuec commune, Krong Pac district, Dak Lak province said that a tragic incident had just occurred in the commune, causing one child to die and another child to be in critical condition after eating toad meat.

According to initial information, at noon on November 19, while her parents were away from home, 11-year-old YTN cooked toad meat for herself and her 5-year-old sister to eat.
After eating, both brothers showed signs of difficulty breathing and cyanosis and were discovered by relatives and taken to the Central Highlands General Hospital for emergency care.
However, of the two children, the older brother died at 11pm on November 19 after eating toad eggs, which led to severe poisoning. The HTLN sister, 5 years old, ate toad legs cooked by her brother and vomited many times and had a stomachache. After being cared for and treated by doctors, the girl's health has stabilized and she is likely to be discharged in the next few days.
Experts warn that toad meat, especially toad eggs, contains very strong toxins. Therefore, people should not use toad meat as food to avoid unfortunate consequences. In case of accidental ingestion or signs of poisoning, the victim should be quickly taken to the nearest medical facility for timely treatment.
