(Dan Tri) - Once in the top 10 most beautiful pagodas in the world , Buu Long Pagoda (Thu Duc City) is a place that attracts many people and tourists to visit and worship Buddha.

Located about 20km northeast of the center of Ho Chi Minh City, Buu Long Pagoda (also known as Buu Long Zen Monastery) is located on Nguyen Xien Street (Thu Duc City). This is the temple with the most prominent Thai architecture in Ho Chi Minh City with a history of more than 80 years.

Buu Long Pagoda was built in 1942 and has undergone many renovations, but to this day, the unique architecture of this pagoda remains quite intact. In 2019, Buu Long Pagoda was voted by the American magazine National Geographic as one of the 10 pagodas with the most unique Buddhist architecture in the world.

The highlight of the temple is the Gotama Cetiya stupa, 56m high, 2000m2 wide and able to accommodate up to 2000 people. The Gotama Cetiya stupa was once known as the largest stupa in Vietnam.

The entire Gotama Cetiya stupa is covered in pure white, with the top gilded with gold.

At the front tower, the top is equipped with wind chimes to create pure sounds.

Each side of the stupa is placed with a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni.

The main hall inside the Gotama Cetiya stupa is designed to be spacious and solemn.

This temple with unique architecture is a place for sightseeing and worship of Buddha for people in the city and neighboring areas. Known as the "smokeless temple", when coming to worship Buddha, Buddhists are not allowed to use incense or lamps.

From the main hall, visitors can go up the stairs to the corridor of the stupa. Here, visitors can enjoy the peaceful scenery of the city's suburbs.

Buu Long Pagoda currently has 12 monks practicing according to the Southern sect.

"I learned about this temple more than 4 years ago through the internet. Today, my daughter and I had the opportunity to visit. From the outside, the temple is very magnificent. I am impressed with the architecture of this temple," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Buoi (living in Thu Duc City).

Located separate from the city, among the green hills, Buu Long Pagoda has a peaceful, rustic beauty. Coming here, visitors seem to put aside all thoughts, worries, and anger of daily life. In recent years, Buu Long Pagoda has gradually become a pilgrimage and Buddhist worship destination for Buddhists in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnamese people in general.
