The 15-minute high-altitude fireworks display at the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel delighted onlookers.

At exactly 9 PM, fireworks were simultaneously launched at high altitude near the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel (Thu Duc City) and at low altitude at Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11).

The 15-minute program celebrated the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.

Some moments of the fireworks were obscured by smoke, but they still retained their vibrant colors. "Even though it rained in Saigon this afternoon, the fireworks this year were beautiful," said Ms. Thanh from District 8.

Standing on a high-rise building in Thu Duc City, a male security guard used his phone to record the fireworks display.

Across the river, at Ben Bach Dang Park in District 1, thousands of people eagerly enjoyed the high-altitude fireworks display amidst cheers and applause.

Mr. Ry brought his niece, Truc Ly, from Nha Be district to Bach Dang wharf to watch the fireworks. "I've seen fireworks many times. Now that my niece from Dak Lak is visiting, I brought her along to see it," he said.

Truong Binh, 23 years old (left corner), and his girlfriend Truc Uyen show their affection while watching fireworks. The young man said it was his first time watching fireworks with his girlfriend, so he was both nervous and happy.

Sitting on his father's shoulders, a little boy giggles heartily as he watches the fireworks.

Mr. Thien Minh, 42 years old, brought a raincoat and food, and took his two children, aged 4-6, to the sidewalk of the Thu Thiem urban area to wait from 6:30 PM to watch the fireworks. When the fireworks exploded in the sky, his whole family took commemorative photos. "This is the first time my son has seen fireworks outdoors, so he really enjoyed it. The whole family came early to get a good spot, so it took a lot of time," Mr. Minh said.

Bach Dang Wharf Park was packed with people watching the fireworks.

This year, for the September 2nd celebration, Ho Chi Minh City will also organize artistic light decorations on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street and a hot air balloon release program on September 2nd and 3rd on Nguyen Thien Thanh street (Thu Duc City).
