Anh Vien was born on November 9, 1996 in Can Tho , is a female athlete of the Vietnam national swimming team. When she was 19 years old, she won 8 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal for Vietnam and broke 8 records. She was recognized as the best athlete outside of Singapore at the Southeast Asian Games held in Singapore. She also ranked 25th in the world in the women's 400m freestyle and 32nd in the world in the 400m medley. In 2015, she was the youngest army captain of Vietnam and was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal . After winning the gold medal at the Asian Swimming Championships in Japan in November 2016 in the 400m individual medley, the ASIAD (Asian Games) gold medal is the number 1 goal that the "Golden Girl" of Vietnam wishes to conquer in 2018. At the same time, Vietnamese fans are waiting for Anh Vien to make a breakthrough at the 2020 Olympics when she enters the prime of her career. Hopefully, Anh Vien will continue to bring pride to the country's fans at major playgrounds such as ASIAD and the Olympics in the near future.
