Apple is constantly having to remove "over-the-top" advertisements.

In just about a year, the iPhone manufacturer has removed its advertising campaigns four times.

According to MacRumors , Apple has just removed a new advertisement one day after posting it, marking the fourth time the company has taken such action in over a year.

The removed advertisement, nearly 8 minutes long, was titled “The Parent Presentation.” The video featured comedian Martin Herlihy, who offered advice to students on how to convince their parents to buy a Mac.

The aforementioned advertisement was posted by Apple on June 20th. However, just one day later, the video disappeared from both the official YouTube channel and the company's website for university students.

Notably, the iPhone manufacturer also released a sample presentation containing 81 slides accompanying this advertisement. This document supposedly provides parents with “45 undeniable reasons why a Mac is essential for college.” Currently, this sample presentation is still available for download on Apple's official website, even though the advertisement has been removed.

This isn't the first time Apple has faced negative public reaction to its product advertising campaigns.

In May 2024, Apple had to officially apologize for its "Crush!" advertisement. The controversial video depicted a giant hydraulic press crushing a variety of items symbolizing creativity, such as a piano, a record player, paint cans, and various art tools. Finally, the press lifted, revealing the newly released iPad Pro.

Although the advertisement aimed to showcase the ability to perform multiple creative tasks on a single device, it sparked widespread backlash from the online community and experts. Many argued that the video conveyed a negative message, emphasizing destruction rather than creativity. Under public pressure, Apple quickly removed the advertisement from television channels before officially deleting it from YouTube.

In August 2024, Apple again removed a 10-minute commercial titled “Out of Office OOO.” The video depicted a group of colleagues using Apple products during a business trip to Thailand. The advertisement faced strong criticism from Thai citizens and lawmakers, who argued that Apple portrayed the country in a stereotypical and outdated way that did not reflect reality.

Most recently, in March of this year, Apple removed an iPhone 16 commercial featuring Bella Ramsey, famous from the series Last of Us. This commercial was used by Apple to showcase an AI-powered Siri feature with notable capabilities that weren't yet available in reality, such as recalling the names of people met months prior. The promotion of an unreleased feature may have been the reason for its removal.

Unlike previous ads that Apple removed over the past year, no clear reason has been given for the removal of the “The Parent Presentation” ad.

On social media, some users have expressed their displeasure and questioned the target audience of this advertisement. The lack of transparency in the reason for removing this latest ad has further raised questions about Apple's communication strategy.
