According to PhoneArena , Apple is facing a new lawsuit related to camera technology on the iPhone 15 series. Accordingly, camera sensor company SiOnyx is accusing Apple of illegally using their 'Pixel Isolation Elements' and 'Black Silicon' technology to improve low-light photography capabilities on the iPhone 15.

Apple continues to be embroiled in patent disputes
SiOnyx says it presented the technology to Apple in engineering meetings as far back as 2014, most notably in a detailed presentation in 2017. Now, it believes Apple has 'stolen' the idea to incorporate it into the iPhone 15's advanced camera system, specifically on the Pro Max version.
However, Apple has denied this allegation, saying that SiOnyx violated the confidentiality agreement by using information shared during the meetings as evidence in court. The company asserted that all information exchanged during the meetings is considered confidential and cannot be used in litigation.
The lawsuit is still going strong with the latest developments. Last November, Apple asked the court to dismiss the case for lack of evidence, but was denied. Earlier this January, Apple continued to try to block parts of the lawsuit, while SiOnyx continued to stand by its allegations.
The camera is one of the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s biggest selling points, especially its superior low-light photography. If SiOnyx wins its lawsuit, Apple could face hefty fines or royalties for using the technology.
Conversely, if Apple succeeds, the case would set an important precedent for how confidential information is handled in legal disputes between tech companies.
This is not the first time Apple has been involved in a lawsuit over technology patents. The SiOnyx case once again shows how fierce the battle to protect intellectual property rights in the technology sector is.
