According to Bloomberg , Apple has been actively promoting research and development of artificial intelligence (AI) since the end of last year. It is expected that new AI-related features will be integrated into a series of "Apple" products from the end of 2024.

John Giannandrea, Apple's senior vice president of machine learning and AI strategy, is responsible for developing the underlying technologies for the company's AI systems.
Giannandrea’s team is also working on a smarter version of Siri, with deeper AI integration. Bloomberg also reported that the new Siri version will appear as early as next year.
Meanwhile, senior vice president of software engineering Craig Federighi is overseeing the integration of AI into the next version of iOS (iOS 18). Specifically, the new operating system is said to integrate more features running on Apple's large language model (LLM).
According to MacRumors , the new feature will have interaction between Siri and the messaging app. AI will help users respond to conversations more quickly and effectively. In addition, the team is also considering integrating AI into Xcode to help app developers program faster.
In addition, AI can also be integrated into many other Apple applications, such as creating automatic playlists in Apple Music, writing reports or creating presentations in Pages and Keynote.
Previously, analyst Jeff Pu also revealed that Apple is in the process of developing its own Generative AI system. According to the plan, this new AI system will be integrated into the operating system versions iOS 18 and iPadOS 18.
Generative AI has been popular since late 2022 when OpenAI launched ChatGPT. These chatbots are trained on large language models, allowing them to respond like humans.
Soon after, other tech giants like Google and Microsoft joined the race by launching their own chatbots. In July, Bloomberg 's Mark Gurman reported that Apple was also internally testing a ChatGPT-like chatbot nicknamed "Apple GPT."
