ATxSummit 2025: Vietnam actively contributes to AI development process

Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam made five important recommendations on cooperation directions between countries to ensure a safer and more trustworthy digital environment for people in the coming time.

According to a VNA reporter in Singapore, from May 28-29, Asia's leading technology conference "ATxSummit 2025" took place in Singapore, hosted by the country's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).

The conference attracted over 3,500 registered attendees, including representatives of governments, corporations, companies, experts, investors and many major news agencies and newspapers from around the world .

At the invitation of the Minister for Digital Development and Information Technology, and Minister in charge of Smart Nation and Cybersecurity of Singapore, a high-ranking delegation from the Ministry of Public Security led by Lieutenant General, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam attended a series of events related to ATxSummit 2025.

The event series focuses on two main parts: ATxSummit and ATxEnterprise. Of which, ATxEnterprise takes place at Singapore EXPO, including conferences and exhibitions serving businesses in the fields of technology, radio communications, information and communication, satellite communications and startups.

Speaking at the opening of the event, Minister Josephine Teo stressed that the 5th edition of ATxSummit continues to be a platform to bring together global technology leaders from governments , companies, research institutes and civil society to discuss future technological innovations, the evolving industrial landscape and responses to both opportunities and challenges.

ATxSummit 2025 covers a wide range of topics, from AI agents and embodied AI, satellites and space communications to quantum computing and digital sustainability, with a series of high-level sessions and workshops on pressing issues that are attracting public attention.

After attending ATxSummit 2025 and thematic discussions, the Vietnamese delegation continued to participate in the Ministerial Roundtable on Digital Trust chaired by Minister Josephine Teo.

At the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam delivered an important speech highlighting Vietnam's efforts in implementing the National Strategy on Research, Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence by 2030, aiming to make Vietnam a center for innovation, developing solutions and applying artificial intelligence, as well as solutions to address challenges encountered.

Currently, Vietnam is making efforts to promote international cooperation, learn and share experiences in artificial intelligence governance, and emphasize Vietnam's commitments related to this field.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam emphasized that Vietnam is very proactive in developing and researching international experience, accepting recommendations from prestigious global organizations to build a system of ethical regulations suitable to domestic practices, and at the same time developing responsible artificial intelligence products in harmony with the current legal framework.

In particular, the Deputy Minister of Public Security of Vietnam made five important recommendations on cooperation directions between countries to ensure a safer and more trustworthy digital environment for people in the coming time.

Vietnam believes that parties need to actively implement important initiatives and established frameworks on artificial intelligence governance and digital security such as the Global Digital Compact, the Cross-Border Personal Information Protection Rules System, etc.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security also raised the need to continue researching and developing a flexible legal framework in harmony with regional standards towards building and recognizing common technical standards and regulations in the field of artificial intelligence among ASEAN countries.

In order to promote ASEAN cooperation, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam called for the establishment of artificial intelligence research and application centers in the ASEAN region; linking and connecting data centers between countries; creating a mechanism for sharing, warning and providing information related to artificial intelligence applications.

At the same time, it is necessary to encourage research organizations, businesses and state agencies to invest in research and development of responsible artificial intelligence solutions that serve the common interests of society...

Finally, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam emphasized the role and importance of promoting cooperation in human resource training through training programs in various forms, combining communication to raise public awareness of artificial intelligence and issues related to ethics, law and security.

On the sidelines of ATxSummit 2025, the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security also actively worked with Singaporean authorities such as the Singapore Traffic Police Department and other important partners, and visited the ATxEnterprise exhibition to enhance their understanding of leading new technologies from large corporations and enterprises around the world, as well as emerging trends in artificial intelligence.../.
