Australia wins AFF Women's Cup 2025

Furphy's only goal in the 66th minute helped the Australian women's team defeat the Myanmar women's team to win the 2025 AFF Women's Cup.

The goal came from Keane breaking the offside trap and crossing for Furphy to finish close to the goal, opening the score for the Australian women's team. It was also the only goal in the final match to decide the regional championship.

As for the Myanmar women's team, although they had won against their opponents in the group stage, they were completely deadlocked when they met again in the final match. Having lost the first goal, the Myanmar team was forced to push forward to find an equalizer. They adjusted their personnel and tried to create pressure, but Australia's tightly organized defense and superior physical strength blocked all entrances to the goal.

It is worth mentioning that the Australian team only brought to the tournament the U23 team. However, their tall physique and strong fighting ability helped them dominate their opponents in the region. Australia's journey to the championship was very convincing. They lost only one match, won the remaining four, in which the highlight was the 2-1 victory over the Vietnamese women's team in the semi-finals.

The 2025 AFF Women’s Cup title is a testament to the strength of Australian women’s football, even with only young players. It is also a valuable experience for Myanmar, who reached the final but could not overcome an opponent with superior physical strength.
