On February 6th and 7th (the 9th and 10th days of the first lunar month of the Year of the Snake), Thanh Lam commune, Ba Che district, will hold the Da Village Temple Festival 2025.
The Dạ Village communal house is a place of worship dedicated to the village's tutelary deity, who played a key role in reclaiming land and establishing the village. This is also where a rally was held to disseminate the Viet Minh's policies and the government 's strategy for resistance against French colonialism. Furthermore, it was the site of the establishment of the Hai Chi District Resistance Administrative Committee on October 4, 1946 (the predecessor of present-day Ba Chẽ District).
The festival consists of both ceremonial and celebratory parts. The ceremonial part includes rituals such as: erecting the ceremonial pole, offering sacrifices to the village's tutelary deity, the procession of the tutelary deity's ancestral tablet, the incense offering ceremony, and the ceremony of digging holes for planting seeds.
The festival included various activities such as competitions in traditional sports , folk games, demonstrations of making coóc mò cakes and pounding sticky rice cakes, and performances of unique cultural shows, attracting the attention and support of a large number of local people and tourists.
This year's festival was particularly special because the organizers included bamboo raft racing as a competition, with the participation of four teams from four villages in the commune. With a spirit of sportsmanship and dedication, the teams delivered thrilling and exciting races, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere that was met with enthusiastic cheers from visitors.
