Ba Ria - Vung Tau conducts firefighting, rescue and relief drills at Tan Cang Cai Mep Cluster

On June 21, in Phu My City, the People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province organized a firefighting, rescue and salvage drill at Tan Cang Cai Mep Cluster under Tan Cang Saigon Corporation. The drill had more than 340 officers, soldiers, workers and employees from the police, army, medical forces, specialized firefighting teams..., along with 55 modern motor vehicles of all kinds, both onshore and offshore, mobilized to participate.

Hypothetical situation: At 9:00 a.m. on X, at the import and export area of ​​B1 bridge, TCCT port - Tan Cang Cai Mep cluster, a fire broke out on a container ship docking at the wharf.

The drill had more than 340 officers, soldiers, workers and 55 modern vehicles of various types mobilized to participate.

The fire spread rapidly, causing panic among the crew members on board. Twelve crew members escaped by wearing life jackets provided on board and jumping into the sea. They were then swept away by the current about 100 meters from shore. The remaining 18 crew members lost their composure and were unable to escape on their own, so they panicked and called for help on the deck.

At the same time, at the storage area, there was also a collision between two container trucks, causing two drivers to be unconscious and the car doors to be deformed. On-site forces were unable to get the two victims out.

The new contents of the exercise set high requirements in handling many difficult situations, chain incidents, especially search and rescue in port areas, loading and unloading goods from container ships to the mainland, mobilizing tugboats to organize fire fighting, clearly demonstrating the coordination of operations, promoting the role of the cluster of agencies and enterprises on fire safety and search and rescue, thereby assessing and promoting the "4 on-site" capability when incidents occur at agencies and units, especially seaport areas in the province.

The new contents of the exercise set high requirements in resolving many difficult situations, chain incidents, especially search and rescue in the port area...

The drill is also an opportunity for agencies, units, and investors to manage and operate to self-check and review the professional level and fire prevention and fighting management force of their units. At the same time, evaluate the results of propaganda, inspection, guidance, and training of fire prevention and fighting skills of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police and Rescue Force of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police for grassroots and specialized fire prevention and fighting forces in the province. In particular, evaluate the effectiveness of the coordination regulations on fire prevention and fighting safety and rescue work of the fire prevention and fighting safety enterprise cluster that the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Force and agencies and enterprises have built in the past time.

The results of the drill also help Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Police and facilities to strengthen the organization of fire prevention and fighting and rescue drills in key locations with high risk of fire and explosion, ensuring appropriate and effective plans; build hypothetical scenarios close to the actual situation to propose appropriate fire fighting and rescue tactics and be ready to mobilize the maximum force and necessary means in case of fire, explosion, complex incidents and accidents.
