Propagating traffic safety skills for school-age children

Responding to the Month of Action for Children 2025, the Traffic Police Department in coordination with the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police organized a series of activities to educate students on safe traffic skills during the summer vacation.

From June 12 to June 29, 2025, the program will be implemented in a diverse and creative manner, aiming to equip school-age children with knowledge and skills to handle real-life situations and form civilized habits when participating in traffic.

Hundreds of students participated in a special extracurricular lesson on traffic safety. They experienced situational games, practiced being a traffic commander, learned how to wear a helmet properly, walk legally and recognize traffic signs.

Through the model of "learning while playing, playing while learning", traffic law knowledge is conveyed in a natural and vivid way, helping children to easily absorb and remember for a long time.

Not only in the classroom, the activities also spread to the community. On weekend mornings (June 21, 22, 28, 29), from 6am to 8am, students were present at major intersections such as Le Van Luong - Hoang Dao Thuy, Le Van Luong - Duong Lang, Lieu Giai - Dao Tan, Nguyen Chi Thanh - Huynh Thuc Khang. Here, they danced vibrantly while holding up slogans such as "Turn off the engine and wait", "Traffic safety means no accidents", calling on people to raise awareness when participating in traffic.

This activity not only helps students consolidate their knowledge but also trains their sense of responsibility, confidence in front of a crowd and spreads positive messages to the community. Letting children become “little propagandists” is a new and practical approach to life skillseducation .

The series of activities is a testament to the integrated life skills education model, combining theory and practice, classroom and real life. Through this, students are not only equipped with basic traffic knowledge but also gradually form the right attitude and quick response skills in a complex urban traffic environment.

The Traffic Police Department said that this is a key activity in the 2025 legal education coordination program for students, and is also a model that needs to be replicated in schools across the country.

Raising awareness of traffic safety from school age not only contributes to protecting the children themselves but also builds a solid foundation for a generation of civilized citizens who obey traffic laws.
