(NLĐO) - Ba Ria - Vung Tau has experienced the first half of 2025 with many positive achievements, although there are still quite a few challenges.

According to a report by the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, 9 out of 13 economic and financial indicators showed growth compared to the same period last year and exceeded the growth rate for the whole year of 2024. Notably, revenue from accommodation services increased sharply by 22.68%, revenue from transportation and warehousing increased by 10.53%, and total retail sales of goods increased by 13.96%, surpassing the set targets.

Total budget revenue in the province is estimated at over 47,900 billion VND, reaching 46.67% of the adjusted budget estimate. Notably, total development investment capital for the entire province is estimated at over 42,200 billion VND, an increase of nearly 40% compared to the same period last year.

The 2025 Investment Promotion Conference, themed "Choosing Ba Ria - Vung Tau," attracted more than 50 projects that received investment approval decisions and signed strategic cooperation agreements, contributing to opening a new growth phase for the locality.

The non-oil and gas industry grew by 11.77%, reaching over 210,000 billion VND. Industrial parks in the area attracted 20 new projects with a total capital of over 400 million USD, contributing to raising the occupancy rate of operating industrial parks to 70%.

The service sector continues to be a bright spot. Tourism experienced a strong surge with 3 million overnight visitors, an increase of 18.28%. Many notable events such as the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Tourism Music Festival 2025 and the hot air balloon festival in Xuyen Moc created positive media effects and contributed to affirming its position as a leading tourist destination in the South.

The New Rural Development Program has achieved outstanding results, with 100% of communes meeting the standards, 87.5% meeting advanced standards, and 35% meeting model standards. Education , health, culture, and sports have been implemented synchronously and effectively. The rate of trained labor reached 82%, and the rate of the population using clean water reached 100%.

Outstanding achievements were made in the field of education, with over 80% of schools meeting national standards. Public health care and disease prevention were well-controlled, preventing overlapping outbreaks. The Citizen Satisfaction Index (SIPAS) reached 90.99%, ranking 5th nationwide, reflecting efforts to improve the quality of public administrative services.

Tourism in Ba Ria - Vung Tau makes impressive breakthrough.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has identified 2025 as the year of "comprehensive digital transformation for the development of the digital economy". The rate of online public service applications has reached nearly 24%, ranking 4th in the Southeast region. Administrative reform and local governance indicators are among the top in the country.

In addition, the province is gradually streamlining its administrative apparatus towards greater efficiency. Following the reorganization, the entire province has reduced 48 commune-level administrative units, aiming to reduce staffing levels and utilize public assets effectively.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau will continue to implement a comprehensive set of solutions to promote growth, improve the investment environment, accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital, support businesses, promote digital transformation, and ensure social security.
