Ba Ria - Vung Tau is not only a lucky locality blessed by nature, but is also affirming its position as one of the leading industrial, seaport, service and international tourism centers in the country.
With its strategic location at the gateway to the East Sea of the Southern key economic region, Ba Ria - Vung Tau is considered an attractive investment destination, capable of effectively connecting to the global value chain.
From the Southeast gateway to the world
According to a report from the Department of Planning and Investment, the province has so far attracted more than 1,200 domestic and foreign projects with a total registered capital of about 54 billion USD.
Of these, there are 503 FDI projects from 30 countries and territories, with a total capital of more than 35 billion USD - a number that not only shows the attractiveness of its geographical location, but also affirms a transparent, stable and potential investment environment.

In just the first 5 months of 2025, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has granted certificates to 73 new projects with a total investment capital of nearly 100 trillion VND, of which FDI capital reached more than 4 billion USD. Large-scale, modern projects continue to flow into the province, creating new growth momentum and forming global brands.
However, in the context of Vietnam's commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050, along with global pressure to reduce pollution and save energy, BR-VT has determined that transforming the industrial model towards "greening" is not only a trend, but a vital requirement.
The province currently has 13 operating industrial parks with a total area of over 7,226 hectares. Key industries such as petrochemicals, electricity, steel, construction materials, and logistics have been the driving force for development, but have also brought with them many challenges regarding the environment, land use, and sustainable livelihoods for the people.
Without hesitation, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has issued a series of drastic policies and action programs: adjusting the planning of industrial parks towards saving resources, applying clean technology, investing in environmentally friendly technical infrastructure. Eco-industrial parks and circular industrial clusters are gradually taking shape - signaling a strategic and synchronous transformation.
Logistics heart of the Southeast region
Cai Mep - Thi Vai international deep-water port cluster is considered the "logistics heart" not only of Ba Ria - Vung Tau but also of the entire Southeast region. This is one of two rare port clusters in Vietnam capable of receiving ships of over 200,000 DWT, connecting directly to European and North American markets without the need for transit.
This port system not only serves the increasing import and export demand, but is also the "backbone" in the development orientation of green industry, clean logistics and sustainable production value chain.
The province is promoting many key projects such as Cai Mep - Thi Vai international transit port, Cai Mep Ha free trade zone, logistics zone and supply chain coordination center.

One of the key competitive advantages of Ba Ria - Vung Tau is the synchronous and modern investment in regional transport infrastructure. The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4, coastal highway, Phuoc An bridge and especially the connection with Long Thanh international airport are opening up new development space, shortening distances, reducing transportation costs and increasing connectivity.
This is also the basis for the province to integrate green industrial development with ecological urban areas and zero-emission logistics zones along new economic corridors - creating a rare sustainable development model in the region.
According to a representative of the Department of Finance, Ba Ria - Vung Tau is proposing to integrate green industrial parks with ecological urban areas and clean raw material areas from neighboring provinces such as Dong Nai, Binh Thuan, Tay Ninh. The goal is to form a green, closed supply chain from production to consumption, increasing added value and minimizing emissions.
“We expect Ba Ria - Vung Tau to not only play the role of a production center, but also a green transit and service hub, contributing to leading the transformation of the industrial model of the entire Southeast region,” the representative affirmed.
From now until 2030, Ba Ria - Vung Tau aims to attract investment projects in a selective manner, prioritizing industries using modern, low-emission technology such as renewable energy, new materials, high-tech supporting industries, and clean food processing.
At the same time, the province will restructure existing industrial parks, invest in upgrading environmental treatment infrastructure, and promote digital transformation in factory management and operation. The model of “smart factory” and “supply chain coordination center” is being promoted in a number of key industrial parks.
Positive signals from provincial green index
Not only stopping at policy commitments, BR-VT has recorded remarkable progress in practice. In 2023, the province rose from 19th to 8th place on the Provincial Green Index (PGI) - a testament to its efforts to transform and take concrete actions.
According to Mr. Pham Quoc Dang, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province is focusing on improving criteria such as: reducing environmental pollution, preventing natural disasters, enhancing compliance with environmental laws, and improving the ability to "promote green practices" in businesses and communities.
On the journey to become a green industrial center, modern logistics and a leading investment destination in the region, BR-VT is striving to perfect the production - service - tourism ecosystem in a sustainable manner.

With an international seaport system, inter-regional transport infrastructure, open investment policies, a stable environment and a strategic direction for green industry, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is opening its doors to welcome investors with the same vision and aspiration for sustainable development.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, said that the province is making efforts to gradually turn the province into a green industrial center, a leader in clean production, associated with the development of seaports, logistics, high-quality services and international tourism.
“Please choose Ba Ria - Vung Tau. We are committed to accompanying, supporting and working with businesses to create sustainable values, associated with environmental responsibility, social responsibility and the future of future generations”, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Tho sent an invitation.
Not just the story of an industrial province, Ba Ria - Vung Tau's journey is opening up a new development model - green industry, green logistics and green urban areas.
This is proof that, with strategic vision and determination to act, localities can both grow rapidly and develop sustainably - contributing to putting Vietnam firmly on the path of global integration and development.
