Bac Ninh: Helping people settle down and feel secure in their new homes.

BAC NINH - To implement the Gia Binh International Airport project, many villages and hamlets in Bac Ninh province have to be relocated. In a spirit of consensus, the people are ready to "give up their land and leave their homes," contributing to the early completion of this key national project. To ensure the livelihoods of affected households, the province has arranged resettlement areas and provided practical support plans, helping people feel secure in their new homes.

In My Thon village, Gia Binh commune, the weather is dry and sunny, and people are focusing on relocating ancestral graves. After ensuring the graves of their ancestors and relatives are peaceful and ready for Tet (Lunar New Year), the villagers are immediately starting the relocation process. Comrade Nguyen The Dung, Secretary of the My Thon Village Party Branch, shared: “In recent days, following the Party Congress, in which the Party prioritizes investment in strategic transportation infrastructure and expanding development space for the 2026-2030 period, I think the Gia Binh International Airport is one of those projects. Because, upon completion, it will create a breakthrough and development for the entire region. Deeply aware of its importance and the opportunities for future breakthroughs, the village has been actively promoting the relocation, thereby gaining consensus and readiness to move to new residences to make way for the airport construction.”

Expedite progress and provide timely support.

Based on directives and the actual situation, these days, along with the implementation of compensation and land clearance for the Gia Binh International Airport project, localities in the province are also urgently carrying out resettlement projects including: the cemetery park in Dai Lai commune; the resettlement area and cemetery park in Trung Chinh and Luong Tai communes; the resettlement area in Gia Binh commune; and the resettlement areas in Gia Binh and Dong Cuu communes. Understanding the people's concerns, the issue of graves is always of particular importance, so the work of relocating graves is being implemented very urgently. Thousands of graves have been constructed and handed over to the families. Comrade Nguyen Cong Ky, Secretary of the Gia Binh Commune Party Committee and Head of the Steering Committee for land clearance for the Gia Binh International Airport construction project, affirmed that from the people to the villages and communes, everyone is ready and highly determined to implement the project. Every week, the commune holds meetings to report on progress and listen to and address the people's requests and suggestions. Issues within the commune's jurisdiction are handled immediately, while others are promptly reported to higher levels. For example, after receiving a request in the morning to hand over land for tomb construction, the commune assigned the Economic Department to resolve the matter that same afternoon. With the spirit of "working until the job is done, regardless of the time," the commune regularly conducts outreach, visits, and encourages the people to feel secure, have clear minds, and contribute to the common good.

The resettlement project in Gia Binh commune is currently underway.

At the 142-hectare resettlement area in Song Quynh village, Gia Binh commune, dozens of machines and a team of workers and engineers are working according to the technical design. Even on holidays and weekends, the workforce is diligently working on the construction site, arranged in three shifts to meet the deadline. The resettlement area is being built with a comprehensive and modern infrastructure system, from roads, electricity, and water to community living areas… All are planned to ensure stable and long-term living conditions for the residents.

It is expected that after the Lunar New Year, many households will begin moving to their new homes. To ensure progress, the province is urgently calculating solutions, focusing on accelerating the construction of resettlement areas and preparing timely support plans for social welfare and job retraining. In addition, residents are concerned that the simultaneous construction of many houses could lead to a shortage of workers and materials; therefore, plans to stabilize prices and organize construction are being considered, with solutions being devised to facilitate the process and ensure the best possible living conditions for the residents as soon as possible.

The Gia Binh International Airport project covers an area of over 1,900 hectares. With the focus of investors, the decisive direction of the Party committee and government, and the consensus of the people, the project is expected to be completed on schedule, opening up opportunities and driving development for the homeland and the country.
