Responding to VTC News on the afternoon of July 17, Mr. Ta Viet Hung, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province, said that the two schools will continue to operate under their traditional names to protect their brand and identity, instead of changing their names to "Bac Ninh Specialized High School No. 1" and "Bac Ninh Specialized High School No. 2" as decided in early July.
The Department Director also explained that this decision was made after carefully considering social psychological factors, opinions of parents, teachers and students.
Bac Ninh province keeps the names of two specialized high schools after merging.
According to Mr. Hung, the renaming of the school, according to many experts and leaders of the Department of Education and Training, needs to be based on traditional history and practical feedback from the community. Keeping the names of Bac Ninh Specialized High School and Bac Giang Specialized High School (old) ensures the stability of the name, does not cause disruption, and respects the educational culture that has been built over many generations.
The Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province affirmed that it will continue to promote the quality of training: maintain the program to foster excellent students, improve the capacity of the teaching staff, invest in facilities, in accordance with the development orientation of the Ministry of Education and Training .
The fact that Bac Ninh province kept the names of the two specialized high schools after the merger shows respect for tradition, listening to public opinion, and at the same time ensuring the stability of students and the educational community. On that basis, Bac Ninh province continues to focus on improving the quality of specialized education, contributing to the development of elite human resources for the province after the merger.
Previously, Bac Ninh province changed the names of two schools: Bac Ninh Specialized High School and Bac Giang Specialized High School were respectively renamed Bac Ninh Specialized High School No. 1 and No. 2 and received many responses.
After the merger, Bac Ninh province is expected to have an area of 4,718.6 km², a population of 3,619,433 people and 99 commune-level administrative units (66 communes and 33 wards). The province was established on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces.
