BHG - On the morning of July 19, the working delegation of the National Steering Committee 515 led by Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee 515, held a conference to inspect the implementation of the project to clear mines and explosives (RPBMVN) to serve the search and collection of martyrs' remains in Ha Giang . Attending the conference were comrades: Lieutenant General Pham Hong Chuong, Commander of Military Region 2; Thao Hong Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Tran Duc Quy, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee 515 of Ha Giang province; leaders of departments and branches of the province.

Thoroughly grasping and seriously implementing the decisions of the Ministry of National Defense , the Military Region 2 Command and the Military Region RPBMVN Project Management Board, the Provincial Military Command has advised the People's Committee of Ha Giang province to issue a Plan on organizing the implementation of the project: Clearing mines and explosives to serve the search and collection of remains of martyrs who died in the fight to protect the Fatherland in Ha Giang province (phase 2). Of which, 5 units were assigned by the Ministry of National Defense to participate in the project construction. Up to now, 4/5 construction units have completed the assigned area and have withdrawn their forces from the construction site. The management, collection and classification of mines and explosives were carried out by the units and enterprises implementing the project in accordance with the procedures, regulations and plans approved by the Ministry of National Defense . Construction progress of site clearance as of July 21, 2024 is 1,427.6ha/1,500ha, reaching 95.17%.

As the standing agency of the Provincial Steering Committee 515, the Provincial Party Committee - Military Command has led, directed, and done a good job of consulting, informing, propagating, and coordinating the implementation of the task of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains in line with the practical situation, suitable for each stage. The work of concluding the area, creating a search map, and searching for and collecting 3,140 martyrs (as of June 2024), there are still about 1,000 martyrs who need to continue searching and collecting.

However, the work of RPBMVN and searching and collecting martyrs' remains still faces many difficulties such as: Propaganda and mobilization work to provide information at grassroots units is not regular and continuous; the amount of information provided about martyrs' burial places is small, the accuracy of the information provided to serve the search and collection of martyrs' remains is not high. The terrain is high, deep ravines, harsh weather with fog, rain and storms leads to slippery, unsafe during construction. The means to ensure service for the search and collection work are not synchronized, not suitable for the terrain of high rocky mountains, so the search and collection work faces many difficulties...

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duc Quy pointed out the practical difficulties encountered in the implementation of the project. At the same time, he hoped that the Central Committee, the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 2 and the National Steering Committee 515 would pay attention and provide additional funding for the work of RPBMVN and searching for and collecting martyrs' remains; policies for organizations, individuals and organizations participating in the project and equipment and means to serve the collection task. Ha Giang continues to promote the role of the Steering Committee 515 and departments and branches to effectively implement the project.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong highly appreciated the initiative of the Military Region 2 Command and Ha Giang province in organizing forces and implementing the RPBMVN project to serve the search and collection of martyrs' remains sacrificed in the war to protect the Fatherland. At the same time, he affirmed that this is a project of profound and great political and social significance, so he requested that Military Region 2 and Ha Giang province continue to strengthen leadership and direction to deploy appropriate solutions to ensure safety and progress. Local Party committees and authorities pay attention to promoting propaganda to raise people's awareness, mobilizing individuals, especially veterans who participated in fighting in border areas to provide information about martyrs and martyrs' graves. In addition, promoting spirit and responsibility, proactively overcoming difficulties, and completing assigned tasks well...
On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), the Central Military Commission - Ministry of National Defense and the Party Committee - Military Region 2 Command presented gifts to encourage the Team searching for and collecting martyrs' remains of the Provincial Military Command; visited, encouraged and presented gifts to 40 typical policy families in Vi Xuyen district and Ha Giang city.
