Mr. Dang Hung Thai, Director of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway Management Board (Thang Long Project Management Board), said that in the first phase of land handover, the locality will hand over the area of 2 hectares on each side of the rest stop at Km 47+500 according to the initially approved plan.
Regarding the remaining additional 3 hectares, the two localities are continuing to finalize the procedures for supplementing the planning before handing it over for expansion construction.
"On the newly handed-over land, the investor can plan the construction of items such as parking lots and facilities for rest stops to ensure that the needs for rest stops along the highway are met."
"Other supporting projects will continue to be implemented after the local authorities hand over more land," Mr. Thai informed.
The 99km Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, passing through Dong Nai and Binh Thuan provinces, was opened to traffic at the end of April 2024. To serve the rest stop needs of travelers, two rest stops are planned at Km 47+500 (in both directions).
At the end of June 2024, the Vietnam Expressway Authority approved the winning bidder for the construction and operation of the rest stop at Km 47+500 of the highway as the joint venture of FUTABUSLINES - Thanh Hiep Phat.
