Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province: Social criticism of the TDX Khanh Hoa 1 Wind Power Plant Project

On the afternoon of June 19, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province held a conference to provide social feedback on the TDX Khanh Hoa 1 Wind Power Plant Project proposed by TDX Khanh Hoa Wind Power Joint Stock Company as the investor.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and giving feedback on the project's suitability with the planning of Cam Lam province and district and the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; investment objectives, factory construction location; scale, land area for factory construction and land for construction of 220kV power line foundations, transformer stations and sea areas. At the same time, assess the suitability of the project for the transport infrastructure system in the proposed implementation area; impacts, socio -economic and environmental efficiency during the preparation phase for construction and operation. In addition, delegates said that it is necessary to consider compensation, support and resettlement when the State reclaims land to implement the project; ensuring social security, job creation, job conversion, and vocational training for people whose land is reclaimed to stabilize their lives.

Through the conference, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Provincial Committee will synthesize and complete social criticism documents to send to relevant agencies according to regulations.

The TDX Khanh Hoa 1 Wind Power Plant Project is expected to be deployed in the coastal area of Cam Hai Dong commune (Cam Lam district) with a total area of about 518.77 hectares; of which 13.77 hectares are onshore and 505 hectares are offshore. The project's goal is to build a wind power plant with a capacity of about 100 MW; the scale includes 11 turbines, each turbine has a capacity of about 9.1 MW, the expected electricity output is more than 367,806 MWh/year. The total investment is expected to be more than 4,699 billion VND, the construction will start in the fourth quarter of 2025 and the entire plant will be put into commercial operation in the fourth quarter of 2026.
