Dong Phu is a locality rich in historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions. Since ancient times, this place has been a homeland with a tradition of studiousness. During the two long resistance wars of the nation, the commune had thousands of excellent students at all levels, thousands of outstanding young people joining the army. Up to now, Dong Phu has more than 10 professors, doctors, scientists , military generals, more than 400 people with university and graduate degrees... From here, many people have become famous such as: History Professor Lam Thi My Dung, lecturer at the University of Social Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Colonel Le Van Thang, former Head of Logistics of Naval Region 5; Dr. Colonel Le Van Thinh, former Deputy General Director of Vietnam Aviation Construction Company; Colonel Le Van Hanh, former Principal of the Military School of the 4th Corps...
Although it is a purely agricultural commune, in recent years the commune has always prioritized investment ineducation , spending up to 35 billion VND to build school infrastructure and teaching equipment. Up to now, Dong Phu Kindergarten has achieved national standard school level 2 according to Decision No. 19/QD-UBND dated January 3, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman. The school has many good models of physical education for students, and has continuously welcomed delegations from Dong Son district (old) to visit and learn from experiences. The school's staff and teachers are always active, creative, innovative, improving the quality of care, nurturing, and education of children, ensuring food hygiene and safety. The school has been successful in building a safe and friendly educational environment; building a happy school, focusing on children, and organizing well-organized community-based educational activities.
Dong Phu Primary and Secondary School has achieved national standards level 2 according to Decision No. 162/QD-UBND dated January 11, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman. The school has continuously been a bright spot in education in Dong Son district (old), one of the leading units of the province in all aspects, especially stabilizing, maintaining and improving the quality of teaching and learning, and nurturing excellent students. The school has many outstanding models and activities, chosen as a model for Dong Son district (old) and the whole province, and has been visited and studied by many delegations in the province such as: Smart classroom model 4.0; model toilet; boarding kitchen; launching "Vietnam Book Festival and Reading Culture Day"...
In particular, the school maintains a good relationship with the organization “People for the Environment Bun Dang, Korea”, regularly exchanges and organizes experiential activities for staff, teachers and students. During the school year, the school always pays attention to and organizes extracurricular activities, clubs, culture, sports, organizes for staff, teachers and students to visit and experience historical and cultural relics, learn about the national historical traditions.
In addition to training according to the general curriculum, the commune also maintains 4 physical education models for students to practice physical strength, skills, endurance, etc. Ensuring to maintain and improve the level of meeting the criteria and targets on education and training according to the regulations of the criteria of the commune meeting the standards of the new rural area, advanced new rural area, and model new rural area. During the process of assessing the model new rural area standards, the commune was highly appreciated by the provincial assessment teams, recognized as meeting and exceeding many targets of the criterion "Education and training".
Regarding school facilities, both schools are well-invested with large campuses, neatly planned, beautiful, ensuring light, green, clean, beautiful, and safe. The schoolyards all have many signs and slogans promoting campaigns and emulation movements to ensure safety and aesthetics. The system of sports fields, running tracks, jumping pits, and physical exercise areas are all systematically invested in the school campus.
According to Resolution No. 1686 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Thanh Hoa province, Dong Phu commune will be merged with other communes and wards to become Dong Quang ward. With a good educational infrastructure system and training quality in Dong Phu, it will become a favorable foundation for the development of education in the larger ward in the future.
