On the weekend of April 4-6, 2025, the Vietnamese box office witnessed a spectacular breakthrough of "Tunnel: The Sun in the Dark" when this film absolutely dominated with a revenue of more than 45 billion VND, attracting 498,414 tickets and covering 11,977 screenings.

Far behind, "A Minecraft Movie" and "The Concubine's Secret Service" held second and third place respectively with revenue of VND7.7 billion (68,594 tickets) and VND5.6 billion (52,031 tickets), showing that the appeal of entertainment films has not cooled down.

"The Yin Yang Road" is not far behind, reaching 3.1 billion VND with 38,698 tickets, affirming the appeal of the dramatic spiritual genre.

However, the box office picture showed a clear division when "My Sweet Bear" only earned 1.6 billion VND, while "Pororo: Blue Ocean Adventure" and "Kayara: Little Warrior" were around 1 billion VND, although they still retained a significant number of young audiences.

Notably, films like "The Pit of Death" or "Frozen and the Mirror Princess" despite their revenue of less than 1 billion VND, still show a glimmer of light compared to a series of works that are deep at the bottom of the chart.

Specifically, "Exorcism: Dark Origin" was miserable with revenue of only 249,818 VND from 2 tickets, or "That Girl We Chased Together (Korea)" was sluggish with less than 2 million VND.

"Tunnel" not only leads in revenue but also dominates the number of shows while many other films such as "Mickey 17" or "House of the Ancestors" are almost forgotten by audiences with only a few dozen tickets sold.
