Thailand's capital Bangkok has been chosen as the most desirable destination for Generation Z (Gen Z), surpassing global heavyweights such as Melbourne (Australia), Cape Town (South Africa) and New York City (USA).

According to a VNA reporter in Bangkok, in the annual ranking of " The World's Best Cities in 2025" recently announced by Time Out magazine, Bangkok ranked second after Cape Town, but took the absolute lead among the Gen Z group.

Time Out said Bangkok attracts the younger generation for many reasons, including its friendly and welcoming people, making the city an ideal place to build relationships and make new friends.

In addition, affordable prices and relatively low living costs help Gen Z enjoy life without worrying about finances.

The city also offers rich cultural diversity, from ancient temples to bustling shopping districts and vibrant nightlife.

Other cities that attract Gen Z after Bangkok include Melbourne (Australia) - ranked second, standing out for its cultural diversity and strong arts scene, with 96% of respondents rating the city's cultural activities highly.

Cape Town (South Africa) ranked third, famous for its beautiful scenery and affordable cost of social activities.

New York City (USA) ranked fourth, considered the most vibrant city for young people.
