The series of activities are organized to introduce the culture and customs of ethnic groups at the "Common House", contributing to promoting, preserving and developing the unique traditional cultural values of ethnic groups, enhancing cultural exchange, diversifying activities to attract tourists during the holidays and opening tourism programs for the peak tourist season in 2025.
In addition, it demonstrates the traditional culture of ethnic minorities through the space of the highland market and activities of ethnic minorities celebrating Independence Day, performing folk songs and dances, introducing ethnic cuisine, local and regional products, contributing to promoting local culture and tourism. At the same time, it encourages, motivates, inspires, arouses national pride, educates all classes of people about the tradition of patriotism, the will to be self-reliant, the desire for peace , the achievements of the cause of building, protecting and developing the country in the past 80 years and the desire for prosperity.
The National Day holiday activities on September 2nd with the theme "Happy Independence Day" with the participation of about 200 artisans, compatriots of 18 ethnic groups from many regions across the country, creating a colorful cultural "picture". More than 100 artisans are regular members of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village along with 60 representatives of the Nung ethnic group ( Lang Son ) and Muong ethnic group (Thanh Hoa) will bring performances, exchanges and experiences imbued with identity.
The highlight of the series of activities is the "Happy Independence Day" highland market, recreating the cultural space of the Northwest and Northeast regions with more than 50 booths. Visitors will be immersed in the bustling atmosphere of the festival, enjoying traditional dishes such as thang co, roast pork, Lang Son roast duck, five-color sticky rice, grilled chicken, bamboo rice... and specialties such as bamboo shoots, vermicelli, sticky rice, star anise, cardamom, honey. Brocade booths of the Muong, Mong, Thai, Tay, Nung, Lao... introduce costumes, scarves, handmade souvenirs, providing the opportunity to both shop and learn about the ingenuity in traditional weaving.
Here, the Nung ethnic people will perform the Lion Cat Dance - a national intangible cultural heritage, with strong, decisive but graceful movements, accompanied by pounding drums. The dance is not only an art performance but also has a deep spiritual meaning, warding off evil, praying for luck and a bountiful harvest.
Within the framework of the program, many folk festivals will be recreated. The highlight is the Poon Poong festival of the Muong people (Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa), also known as the flower festival, with dances revolving around cotton trees. The performances recreate the working and living life, with the sound of gongs, love songs, and promises.
In addition, visitors will witness an excerpt of the Cai Tao ceremony - the conferment of titles to Tao masters of the Nung ethnic group in Lang Son - a ceremony honoring the role of shamans in spiritual life. This ceremony is performed elaborately, contains many cultural values and shows gratitude to previous generations.
In addition to sightseeing, enjoying cuisine and watching art performances, visitors can also participate in a series of traditional cultural experiences. In the ethnic village area III, folk games such as playing chess, o an quan, checkers, bamboo puppets, stilt walking, bamboo dancing, swing playing... will be open to welcome visitors. Creative activities such as painting statues, sand paintings, bamboo dragonflies, wood paintings, wooden fish or trying on ethnic costumes also promise to bring memorable experiences, especially attractive to children../.
