Bread ranked first in TasteAtlas.

On March 14, the Information Center of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said that the culinary website TasteAtlas assessed that banh mi (pronounced "bun mee") is a very popular Vietnamese dish with the same core ingredient - baguette, introduced by the French.

This page describes the Vietnamese sandwich as having a crispy crust with meat, sprinkled with spices, combined with fresh herbs such as cilantro, chili and pickles reflecting the Vietnamese taste for herbs and light flavors.

Nowadays, the stuffings stuffed into sandwiches are more and more diverse, including chicken, pork, beef, seafood, cold cuts or pate, sausage. But the important thing is not to put too much stuffing in the sandwich. The culinary website evaluates that, thanks to the spices and the very unique and different types of stuffing, Vietnamese sandwiches are especially popular with foreign tourists. Thanks to that, Vietnamese sandwiches have long crossed the border in the country and appeared in many stores around the world .

Also on TasteAtlas’s list are meat sandwiches (ranked 9th) and roast pork sandwiches (ranked 29th). TasteAtlas explains that meat sandwiches are very popular in Vietnam, a sandwich made from various Vietnamese cold cuts such as grilled pork, ham, sausage, etc., along with cucumbers, mayonnaise, carrots, pickled radishes, and liver pate stuffed into the bread. In addition, meat sandwiches are often supplemented with ingredients such as coriander, black pepper, and chopped chili.

Meat sandwiches are usually eaten for breakfast and lunch, but can be eaten at any meal of the day if purchased from street vendors, according to TasteAtlas.

Coming in at number 29 is the roasted pork sandwich. This is a variation of the traditional Vietnamese sandwich, made with grilled pork belly as the main ingredient. The pork is roasted with a layer of salt and seasoning. It is sliced and sandwiched into freshly baked bread.

Currently, the word "banh mi" has also been included in many famous dictionaries in the world such as Oxford, Cambridge, Merriam-Webster... "A type of Vietnamese baguette with cold cuts, pate and vegetables", Oxford Learners' Dictionaries (English dictionary of Oxford University Press) defines.
