Flood on Cau River remains at level 3 alert. |
The dispatch stated: Due to the impact of heavy rain after storm No. 11, exceptionally large floods occurred on Cau River, Thuong River, and Ca Lo River, exceeding historical levels.
Specifically, the flood peak on Cau River at Gia Bay at 3:00 a.m. on October 8 was 29.9 m, exceeding the historical level in 2024 by 1.09 m; at Phuc Loc Phuong at 9:00 p.m. on October 9 was 9.98 m, exceeding the historical level in 2024 by 0.58 m; Thuong River at Huu Lung at 2:00 p.m. on October 8 was 24.31 m, exceeding the historical level in 1986 by 1.77 m; at Phu Lang Thuong at 3:00 a.m. on October 9 was 7.6 m, exceeding the historical level in 1986 by 0.08 m; Ca Lo River at Manh Tan at 4:00 a.m. on October 10 was 9.75 m, exceeding the historical level in 2024 by 0.41 m.
The dike system has had 43 incidents threatening flood safety, many dike routes have had to be built to prevent overflow on a large scale (the dikes of Cha, Ha Chau, Thai Nguyen city, left and right Cau, right Thuong, left Thuong - Duong Duc, right Ca Lo have been built to prevent overflow with a total length of about 20 km).
Currently, floods on rivers are still maintained at very high levels (fluctuating at peak levels or receding but very slowly); water level at 8:00 a.m. on October 10 on Cau River at Phuc Loc Phuong was 9.91 m, Thuong River at Phu Lang Thuong was 7.5 m, Ca Lo River at Manh Tan was 9.73 m.
To ensure the safety of the dikes, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment requests the Chairman of the People's Committee of the province and city to absolutely not be subjective or negligent; continue to mobilize forces to strengthen inspection, monitoring, urging and patrolling on the dikes to promptly detect and handle incidents that occur from the first hour. Localities maintain forces, prepare materials, means, machinery and equipment to protect the dikes. Only operate forced drainage pumps into the river according to the operating procedures approved by competent authorities, while ensuring the flood safety of the dikes.
Latest report from Bac Ninh Province Hydrometeorological Station: flood on Thuong River at Cau Son station reached 17 m, Phu Lang Thuong reached 7.48 m and is slowly decreasing at level above alert 3. On Cau River at Phuc Loc Phuong station at 9.8 m, Dap Cau station at 7.42 m, water level is slowly decreasing at level above alert 3.
Forecast for the next 24 hours: Thuong River water at Cau Son station continues to drop to 15.6-15.7 m below alert level 3; Phu Lang Thuong station continues to drop to 7.1-7.2 m above alert level 3. On Cau River at Phuc Loc Phuong, water level drops to 9.2-9.3 m above alert level 3; Dap Cau station continues to drop slowly to 7.0-7.1 m, above alert level 3.
