The 2024-2025 school year will be the year covering the 2018 GeneralEducation Program (GEP) with many innovations in the curriculum, textbooks, testing, and assessment of students' learning outcomes.
According to the assessment of teachers and candidates, this year's exam has reasonable differentiation to help accurately assess students' abilities according to the 2018 General Education Program. The exam results can reflect the teaching quality of schools in the past school year.
Specifically, the Math exam closely followed the program, had good differentiation, integrated practical problems, was suitable for the goal of educational innovation, and was assessed as being within reach, not too difficult; basic questions were suitable for average students, and application questions created opportunities for excellent students to achieve high scores.
The Literature exam does not use the materials learned in textbooks (all 3 sets of books), the social discussion issues are close, practical, rich in humanistic values; the exam questions are suitable for students in the province, with high classification. The English exam questions ensure the goals and requirements of the English Program for junior high school, closely following the structure and reference exam questions for admission to grade 10 of high school in the 2025-2026 school year issued by the Department of Education and Training...

To ensure the education stream after junior high school as well as create a source of training for excellent students, the Department of Education and Training has developed a common exam for all candidates taking the exam in 3 subjects (Literature, Math, Foreign Language) and a separate exam (specialized subject) for candidates taking the exam for Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted (exam on the afternoon of June 6).
At the Examination Council of Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted, Tran Dieu Linh assessed that the Physics exam was very difficult, and candidates had to spend almost all of their time doing the test. The knowledge in the exam was spread across all grades, but mostly in grade 9. I had reviewed some types of questions, but there were also a few quite "difficult" questions, so I was not very confident. I hope the results will be as expected so that I can study at my dream school.
Regarding the Literature exam, teacher Vi Thi Hong Men, a teacher at Dinh Nup Primary and Secondary School (Cu M'gar district), commented that this year's exam was very good. Candidates not only needed to have knowledge and the ability to perceive, but also needed to be creative in the process of doing the test. For the argumentative part, students with good comparative thinking ability would do well and meet the requirements. In general, the exam was suitable for selecting candidates with clear and outstanding literary ability.
Compared to last year (2024-2025 school year, entrance exams were held at 12 public high schools with more than 7,000 candidates taking the exam, 41 schools considered for admission), this year's exam was organized on a larger scale (entrance exams were held at 53 public high schools with more than 21,000 candidates taking the exam).
In particular, specialized schools still enroll students according to their own criteria as before: Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted enrolls students based on ability (with specialized subject exams); N' Trang Long Boarding Ethnic High School enrolls students residing in the districts: Buon Don, Cu Kuin, Krong Ana, Krong Bong, Krong Pac, Lak, Ea Sup, Buon Ma Thuot City; Dam San Boarding Ethnic High School enrolls students residing in the Northeast of the province including the districts: M'Drak, Ea Kar, Cu M'gar, Ea H'leo, Krong Buk, Krong Nang and Buon Ho town.

The initial innovation in the admission method (entrance exam) basically meets the learning needs of students when the number of candidates registering for the exam is large, many candidates also soon have their own plans suitable to their abilities, strengths, conditions and capacities. Statistics from the Department of Education and Training show that the whole province has 22,152 candidates registered for the exam at 53 public high schools, but more than 1,000 candidates did not take the exam. According to the investigation, the absent candidates did not come to receive their exam cards; thus, many students did not choose to continue studying at public high schools but proactively chose to study at vocational education institutions, continuing education...
In the 2025-2026 school year, 53 public high schools will enroll 20,796 students. Currently, the Department of Education and Training is carrying out the stages related to the exam marking process to announce the results on June 16, 2025.
Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Thanh Xuan said: The 10th grade entrance exam is an important milestone for each student on their career path. The results of the exam will objectively and honestly reflect the quality of teaching and learning in the industry in recent times.
Hopefully, the exam, which has changed the structure of the exam for the first time, will accurately assess the students' actual abilities. This will affirm the efforts to innovate teaching methods; test and evaluate students' learning outcomes; and solutions to improve the quality of education of schools.
The sector will also draw certain experiences in organizing review sessions for students, guiding students to self-study according to the 2018 General Education Program to apply at all levels, especially grade 12 students. At the same time, draw experiences in organizing exams to prepare for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam taking place at the end of June.
