Technology brings museums closer to the public.
At the Lao Cai Provincial Museum, digitization is being strongly implemented. More than 1,000 documents and artifacts have been digitized; 560 paper artifacts and 300 documentary films have had their images standardized.

In particular, the 3D virtual museum has officially launched, offering visitors a new and immersive experience.
3D technology combined with QR codes not only helps to securely store documents for scientific research, but also tells vivid stories about the history and culture of ethnic groups in the highlands.
With just a smartphone or computer connected to the internet, visitors can rotate 360 degrees and admire every detail of artifacts hundreds or thousands of years old without touching them.
Pham Gia Khiem, a student in class 12A2 at Lao Cai High School, shared: "I think digitizing culture in museums is very necessary. Thanks to technology, we can access the traditional culture of the ethnic groups in Lao Cai province more easily. The artifacts are preserved for a long time, and with just a click of the mouse, we can explore them immediately without having to go there in person."

The pages of a book are brought back to life in the digital space.
Beyond its role as a museum, the Lao Cai Provincial Library is also contributing to the strong digital transformation of the cultural sector. Thousands of books, newspapers, and rare documents are digitized each year, expanding access for readers while protecting materials at risk of damage over time.

Through the digital library system, students and researchers can easily search for and access resources for their studies and research without being limited by space or time.
Each year, we digitize over 35,000 pages of documents, with a focus on folklore, local customs, and traditions. These documents are stored to serve the preservation, research, and learning needs of the people, especially the younger generation.
The journey of preserving and spreading digital heritage.
Lao Cai is currently one of the localities richest in cultural heritage in the country, with 4 intangible cultural heritage sites representing humanity, 56 national intangible heritage sites, and nearly 100 traditional festivals and rituals of various ethnic groups.

Recognizing this value, Lao Cai province has been promoting the digitalization of its cultural heritage, viewing it as an essential direction in managing, promoting, and developing the value of its heritage. However, this process still faces many challenges regarding human resources, technology, and financial resources.
Mr. Duong Tuan Nghia, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province, said: The cultural sector is developing a project to digitize culture with relatively large resources, while also strengthening human resources and promoting propaganda and advertising. The goal is to help all levels and sectors better understand the role of digital technology in the cultural field, serving more effective management and wider promotion.
With a long-term vision, Lao Cai is asserting that digitalization is an inevitable path to preserving and promoting cultural values in the digital age. This is not only an effort to preserve the past, but also a strategic step to bring the image of the land and people of this border region closer to friends both domestically and internationally.
In the digital space, every artifact, every festival, every folk tale of Lao Cai has the opportunity to be spread and preserved for future generations.
