The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that at 1 p.m. today, storm Tra Mi was located at about 16.2 degrees north latitude; 123.6 degrees east longitude, in the sea east of Luzon Island (Philippines). The storm is level 9 (75 - 88 km/h), gusting to level 11 and moving west-northwest at a speed of 15 - 20 km/h.

In the next 24 hours, storm Tra Mi will enter the East Sea and become Vietnam's 6th storm in 2024. At 1:00 p.m. on October 24, storm No. 6 was at about 16.7 degrees north latitude; 119.8 degrees east longitude; in the eastern sea area of the northern East Sea. The storm is at level 9, gusting to level 11 and moving northwest, then changing to southwest, traveling 15 - 20 km/h, entering the East Sea.
At around 1pm on October 25, storm No. 6 was at around 17.2 degrees north latitude; 117.4 degrees east longitude; in the eastern sea area of the northern East Sea, 640 km east of the Hoang Sa archipelago. The storm was at level 10, gusting to level 12, and moving west-northwest at 10-15 km/hour.

At around 1 p.m. on October 26, storm No. 6 was located at 17.5 degrees north latitude; 113.2 degrees east longitude; in the sea northeast of the Hoang Sa archipelago. The storm was at level 12, gusting to level 15, and moving westward at 15-20 km/hour.
From the next 72 to 120 hours, storm No. 6 will move mainly west, at about 15 km per hour, then it is likely to change direction to south-southwest and move more slowly. At 13:00 on October 28, the center of storm No. 6 is likely to be over the sea of Da Nang city.
Due to the influence of storm No. 6, the sea area east of the northern East Sea has strong winds of level 6 - level 7. From early morning on October 24, it increased to level 8 (62 - 74 km/h), the area near the storm center has level 9 - level 10 (75 - 102 km/h), gusts of level 12, waves 3 - 5 m high, the area near the storm center has 5 - 7 m; the sea is very rough.
Ships operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are susceptible to the effects of storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
