(Baohatinh.vn) - Blossoming since 2024, the homestay tourism model at Thien Cam beach (Cam Xuyen, Ha Tinh) is attracting many visitors, thereby creating jobs and increasing income for people.

At the beginning of the tourist season, Homestay Memory (Hai Nam village, Cam Nhuong commune, Cam Xuyen) is fully booked on weekends. With the advantage of being located along the sea embankment, near Con Go fish market, near Thien Cam beach, Homestay Memory attracts tourists from other provinces to experience and immerse themselves in the indigenous cultural life of fishermen in the coastal area.

Ms. Tran Thi Hang - owner of Homestay Memory said: "Taking advantage of the old house, last year, I invested an additional 300 million VND to repair and renovate 3 rooms. The homestay has motorbikes, bicycles, washing machines, gas stoves, and cooking utensils to serve tourists. With this form of business, we want to bring tourists the feeling of living in an old house. Although it has not been in operation for long, the homestay has attracted many tourists from other provinces to experience. This group introduces it to other groups, so on weekends, our facility is almost fully booked."

From the effectiveness of some pioneering models, currently, the whole Cam Nhuong commune has 5 households investing and upgrading infrastructure to operate homestay services. This form of business is considered one of the potential directions for local people when living next to Thien Cam beach - one of the most beautiful beaches in the Central region.

I really enjoy cycling to the fish market early in the morning to watch the sunrise, waiting with fishermen for fishing boats to return and then buying fresh seafood that has just arrived. In the evening, the whole family cycles around Thien Cam Tourist Area to experience the entertainment services.”

Not only Cam Nhuong commune, Thien Cam town (Cam Xuyen) also has many households leading the trend of homestay tourism business. Some households have invested to build new, spacious and large-scale accommodation facilities; meeting the accommodation needs of large groups of guests.

It can be seen that homestay is not only a form of accommodation business but also an interesting type of experiential tourism, bringing tourists to explore the unique features in the cultural life of the indigenous people. This unique tourism product is being chosen by many out-of-province visitors, especially foreign visitors, when coming to Thien Cam beach in particular and Cam Xuyen district tourism in general. To meet the needs of tourists, currently, Cam Xuyen district People's Committee is also focusing on planning; promoting propaganda and orientation for people to boldly invest in infrastructure for homestay tourism business.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chien - Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Cam Xuyen district emphasized: “The trend of experiential tourism and community tourism is increasingly popular. Therefore, homestay business is a suitable direction for people to participate in tourism. In the coming time, the locality will carry out propaganda, training, and guidance for people to participate in the homestay tourism model to diversify tourism products, attract tourists to visit and relax. In addition, the locality will cooperate with travel companies, management boards of tourist areas and destinations inside and outside the province to serve tourists, thereby creating jobs for people, contributing to preserving culture, developing tourism in the district and increasing the local budget revenue”.

According to statistics, in the first 4 months of the year, Thien Cam Tourist Area (Cam Xuyen) welcomed about 170,000 tourists, an increase of 10% over the same period in 2024; of which about 35,000 were overnight guests, an increase of 20%. Thien Cam Tourist Area's total revenue reached 110 billion VND, an increase of 15% over the same period last year.
