On May 14, news from Tra On District Police ( Vinh Long ) said that the unit is temporarily detaining Nguyen Van Binh (23 years old, residing in Cong Da Hamlet, Thuan Thoi Commune, Tra On District) to investigate the act of stealing a motorbike.
Nguyen Van Binh was arrested with many exhibits.
Accordingly, at around 1:20 p.m. on May 13, Thuan Thoi Commune Police (Tra On District, Vinh Long) received a report from PQD (17 years old, residing in Thien My Commune, Tra On District) that a stranger had just used a knife to control and rob his motorbike with license plate 84 FC - 6651 on Dan Road in Vinh Thuan Hamlet, Thuan Thoi Commune, Tra On District.
Immediately after receiving the report, Thuan Thoi Commune Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Team of Tra On District Police and notified the police of communes and towns in the area to block and arrest the suspect. Using professional measures, the police force identified the suspect who caused the robbery as Nguyen Van Binh and arrested him.
At about 1:55 p.m. the same day (35 minutes after the car robbery), when Binh was discovered driving the stolen car on National Highway 54, in Vinh Thanh Hamlet, Vinh Xuan Commune, Tra On District, the police force blocked the road and arrested Binh along with the evidence.
The motorbike was seized by the police.
Initially, Binh admitted that he was the one who committed the robbery and was on his way to find a place to sell the motorbike when he was arrested. The police seized the stolen motorbike and many related exhibits.
According to the police, Binh is a drug addict, a frequent thief, and has a previous conviction for theft. Binh is currently on bail by the Tra On District Police Department to investigate his previous theft.
The above mentioned motorbike robbery case is being further investigated and handled by the Investigation Police Agency of Tra On District Police according to regulations.
