Ninh Thuan While driving a motorbike home for Tet, many people were surprised when the police waved them over and gave them cold towels, cool drinks, lunch boxes and gifts.
On February 5 (December 26), many people from the Central region who work far away in the South rode their motorbikes to return home for Tet. When they passed through Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan province, they were unexpectedly invited in by police officers , military officers, youth union members... to give out gifts.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, from Quang Ngai, working as a worker in the Amata Industrial Zone ( Dong Nai ), said that he was concentrating on driving in the hot sun when he saw the traffic police waving him in. "I thought I was driving wrongly and was being called in for a fine, but unexpectedly the police officers greeted me and gave me cold towels, cool water, a lunch box and even a Tet gift," Mr. Hung said.
Similarly, Tran Ngoc Son and his wife, who are from Binh Dinh and work in an industrial park in Binh Duong, also returned home by motorbike this morning. When they arrived in Ninh Thuan at around 9:30 a.m., they were surprised to be called in by police officers who gave them gifts and wished them a safe journey. "After a long journey, receiving cold towels, cool water, and even rice made them feel very excited," Son said.
In addition to food and drinks, many people were also given traditional Ca Na fish sauce, a specialty of Ninh Thuan.

The Traffic Safety Committee of Thuan Nam district said that today it has mobilized more than 2,000 gifts, including soft drinks, cold towels, milk, boxed lunches, traditional fish sauce... from contributions from organizations, individuals, and businesses in the area to give to people traveling long distances to return home for Tet.
Mr. Dinh Van Hoa, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Traffic Safety Steering Committee of Thuan Nam District, said that National Highway 1 through the locality at the end of the year has a lot of students and workers riding motorbikes from Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai to the Central provinces to celebrate Tet. Therefore, the locality has established a charitable Spring break stop to support road users.
At these stops, traffic police also propagate people to comply with traffic safety regulations such as: driving in the correct lane, not drinking alcohol, not speeding...
